With 2023 now in the past, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage that can be found anywhere in 2024. Starting in February, we began releasing team previews for squads across the state. Ahead, we will have Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings coming your way.

2024 Spring Team Preview: Patrick Henry Patriots

Team Name: Patrick Henry Patriots
Head Coach: Brett Yungman
Division: IV
2023 Record: 16-7
2023 Tourney Finish: Sectional Finals loss to Leipsic
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 4/2

Coach Outlook: "After losing 5 senior starters, as well as injuries to Brock Behrman (out for season) and Nash Meyer (likely to return), we will be looking to fill many positions with talented juniors and sophomores. I have high expectations for our returning lettermen to lead our team to a successful season. We will look to run the bases aggressively, play clean defense, and put the ball in play on offense."

  • Mack Hieber, P/IF, 2026, 6-6, 195lbs, R/R, will be a 2 year starter Last year stats: 38 IP, 62 K, 2.56 ERA, 6-1 Record, 0.312 BA, 12 RBI, 32B, 13R
  • Nash Meyer, IF, 2024, 6-2, 200lbs, R/R, will be a 4 year starter, team captain, tore his meniscus (bucket-handle) in Football and is now recovering to make a mid-season return Last year stats: 0.369 BA, 17 RBIs, 6 2B, 21BBs
  • Landon Johnson, OF/P, 2024, 5-10, 170lbs, L/L, will be a 4 year starter Last years stats: 0.267 BA, 23R, 3 2b, 1 3b 12 SB (100%), 20IP, 3.65 ERA
  • Houston Miranda, IF. 2024, 5-11 175lbs, R/R, will be a 3 year starter Last year stats: 0.333 BA, 3 2b, 2 3b, 9 SB (100%)

Class of 2024 Prospects To Keep Eye On:

  • Nash Meyer

Class of 2025 Prospects To Keep Eye On:

  • Ian Schwab- 6-4 Left handed pitcher that mixes speeds well. 
  • Lane Jackson- Left handed pitcher and great defensively in the OF

Class of 2026 Prospects To Keep Eye On:

  • Mack Hieber (Video Below)
  • Grant Schwab- young infielder that got a lot of playing time last season and will look to fit right into our lineup
  • Lane Biederstedt- young catcher that has a strong arm and receives the baseball very well.
  • Cal Schroeder- left handed pitcher and switch hitter that is great defensively in the OF and will cause chaos offensively. 
  • Mason Jardine- young utility player that is able to fit any position that is needed for the team.
