The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as the calendar rapidly approaches the start of the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.
We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.
Today, we put the spotlight on a NorCal '25 C Jake Fletcher out of Justin-Siena High School. With an athletic wiry frame with some present strength to it Fletcher is solid athlete who is a fringe average runner at 7.23 in the 60 while showing some burst with a 10 yard time of 1.71 seconds. With a medium leg lift into his back hip with a good feel for his rhythm and timing to get to the launch position. Fletcher shows a good turn in the path with leverage in his bat path to drive the ball through the middle of the field. Power is fringe average at 89.1 MPH max exit velocity. Shows a clean transfer with low carry and life to his throws and a top pop time at 1.97 seconds with decent accuracy to the bag. Good mobility in his hips to get low into a 1 knee down stance with feel for pitch presentation and the ability to block well with balls inside his shoulder. A solid average backstop who could develop into fringe above average with the ability to add depth to a lineup. Fletcher should be on college coaches radars for the spring/summer as a potential catcher in their '25 class.
