Nebraska Fall Review Scouting Reports 2021's & 2022's

The PBR NE Fall Review event took place on Sunday, November 4, 2018. The event was held at Ultimate Baseball Academy in Omaha, NE.

The event was exclusive to 2019, 2020, 2021 & 2022 grads- from Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota-  who participated in the last Prep Baseball Report Nebraska event of the fall. 

Players showcased their talents in front of our scouting staff and college coaches in attendance. Thank you to the players, parents, my staff; along with the staff at Ultimate Baseball Academy for such a great event.

There were a number of great individual performances this year at the PBR NE Fall Review  event.

 

2021 & 2022 Scouting Reports

 

Luke Jessen OF / LHP / Elkhorn South, NE / 2021

5-foot-9, 165 pound left handed hitting outfielder ran a 3.82 home to first. Compact athletic frame with some present strength in lower half. One of the top outfielders in Nebraska for the 2021 class.  Open stance, gap to gap line drive contact, quick twitched, shows ability to consistently barrel baseballs. Posted an 90 mph exit velocity off a tee. Topped out at 83 mph from the outfield. 

 

 

 

Kale Jensen 3B / 2B / Central City, NE / 2022

 5-foot-10, 160 pound infielder ran a 4.43 home to first. Lean athletic frame, should continue to develop physically. Open stance, easy short load, rhythm leg kick timing, okay lower half, good balance. Shows speeds and lift in hands. Pull side approach, uphill barrel path. Pull side approach. Posted an 76 mph exit velocity off a tee. Average actions in the infield, hands work through the body, feet get heavy, clean exchange with extra tap from a high ¾ slot. Topped out at 73 mph across the infield.

 

 

Devin Jones OF / RHP / Creighton Prep, NE / 2022

5-foot-11, 150 pound outfielder ran a 4.27 home to first. Lean athletic frame. Balance square stance. Quite load, leg kick trigger, okay lower half, fast path through the zone on a linear plane. Line drive contact to all fields, flashed hard contact during round of BP. Posted an 85 mph exit velocity off a tee. Clean actions in the outfield, easy transfer to a mid ¾ release that topped out at 81 mph to the catcher.

 

 

 

Bronson Moet C / 3B / Sioux Falls Washington , SD / 2021

5-foot-9, 160 pound two way player ran a 4.21 home to first. Open stance, arm bar when loaded, short stride, okay lower half, shows balance in swing. Average bat speed through the zone, all fields approach, long path, line drive contact during round of BP. Posted an 81 mp exit velocity off a tee. Behind to play threw to 2nd in the 2.27-2.64 range. Offset stance, pie arm action, stabs and reaches occasionally. Avg. blocker. Corner actions in the infield, works directly to the ball, hop transfer, topped out at 73 mph across the infield. Topped out at 74 mph from the mound, ¾ arm slot, long arm action with some stiffness in delivery. Consistently around the zone with fastball. Little break/action on breaking ball. Arm has tendency to slow on change up.

 

 

 

 

Enrique Saucedo 2B / RHP / Papillion LaVista South, NE / 2021

5-foot-9, 165 pound two way player ran a 4.26 home to first. Fastball topped out at 79 mph from a mid ¾ arm slot. Consistently pounded the bottom on the strike zone with his fastball. Flat action. Arm is short on the backside and long out front. 10/6 shaped breaking ball with gradual break, some depth, average spin. Slightly open balanced set up. Quite load, okay lower half, compact short barrel path. Middle pull approach. Posted an 83 mph exit velocity off a tee. Projects to 2nd at the next level, easy clean actions, plays the ball out front, feet work towards the base. Topped out at 78 mph across the infield.

 

 

 

 

Jay Schubert 1B / OF / Papillion-LaVista South, NE / 2021

5-foot-10, 160 pound infielder ran a 5.10 home to first. Average build. Square stance, wiggle load, short stride, lower half collapse, fair balance. Average bat speed, middle of the field approach, level barrel path through the zone. Posted an 76 mph exit velocity off a tee. Corner actions in the infield, works directly to the ball, stabs with glove, extra tap in release. ¾ arm slot that topped out at 76 mph across.  

 

 

 

Brooks Stein 2B / OF / Sioux Falls Washington, SD / 2021

 5-foot-6, 143 pound infielder ran a 4.50 home to first. Small frame. Slightly crouched open stance. Leg kick trigger, good balance, stays in line with lower half. All field approach, bat drags through the zone. Long uphill path. Opposite field approach. Fluid rhythm. Posted an 77 mph exit velocity off a tee. Heavy actions in the infield, funnels through his body, extra tap in release. Mid ¾ arm slot that topped out at 71 mph across the infield.

 

 

William Sengstock OF / 1B / Creighton Prep, NE / 2021

 6-foot, 185 pond outfielder posted an 79 mph exit velocity off a tee. Athletic build with some present strength. Square balanced set up. Choppy load, short stride start to arm produces,  linear barrel path with some stiffness. Line drive contact during round of BP. Topped out at 69 mph from the outfield, high energy actions, works through the ball with clean transfers, mid ¾ arm slot.

 

 

 

George Sherlock C / 2B / Dubuque Hempstead, IA / 2022

5-foot-8, 160 pound catcher ran a 4.36 home to first. Athletic build. Open set up, smooth toe tap load with a short stride. Controlled lower half, good balance through swing. Bat is quick through the zone, all fields approach, looseness in hands with some pop. Posted an 87 mph exit velocity. Behind the plate, threw to 2nd in the 2.06- 2.24 range. Wide set up, quick athletic movements, plus blocker, beats pitches to the spot. High follow for the 2022 class in Iowa as he continues to develop.
