Tuesday April 7

BIG NORTHERN EAST

Burlington Central 3, Marengo 1
Burlington Central (6-1, 1-0) defeated Marengo behind Max Judnic. Judnic’s clutch two-out two-run single in the bottom of the fifth broke up a 1-1 tie and led the Rockets to victory.   

Harvard 8, Genoa Kingston 0
Harvard (3-4, 1-1) defeated Genoa-Kingston behind a one-hit, 12 strikeout shutout for Logan Streit. Tyler Perkins led the Hornet attack with three singles and two RBI.

Richmond-Burton 17, Johnsburg 14
Richmond Burton (6-4, 2-1) outlasted Johnsburg (2-6, 1-2) behind Trevor Anderson, who had three hits, including two doubles and drove home three Rocket runs. Johnsburg’s Ryan Kordik hit for the cycle going 5-for-5, with four runs scored and two driven in for the Skyhawks.

BIG NORTHERN WEST

Winnebago 6, Rockford Lutheran 2
Winnebago (2-1, 2-1) defeated Rockford Lutheran (5-3, 1-1) behind Jeremy Morehead and Daven Heslop. Morehead singled and plated three Indian runs while Heslop fired a seven-hitter at the Crusaders.  

Stillman Valley 15, Oregon 0

Stillman Valley (8-2, 2-1) blanked Oregon behind a Logan Byers one-hitter with nine strikeouts. Beyers had a perfect 2-for-2 day at the plate with two doubles and three runs scored.

CENTRAL STATE 8

No.12 Chatham Glenwood 2, No. 7 Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin 1

Chatham Glenwood (9-0, 5-0) defeated SHG (7-2, 4-1) behind a four-hitter from Nick Maton (5-0). Maton struck out six and walked three Cyclone batters. SHG’s Ben McElwee (3-2)  was the tough-luck loser allowing two runs and just two hits in his six innings of work. Glenwood scored two runs in the bottom of the first and Maton made the runs hold up at South Park in Chatham.
