STATEWIDE GAMES OF THE DAY
No. 1 St. Rita (27-2, 11-2 Catholic Blue) won in walk-off fashion to stun No. 12 Brother Rice (21-7, 9-4 Catholic Blue) behind Shane Peisker and Anthony Faron 7-6. Peisker led off the bottom of the seventh with his fourth home run of the season to tie the game at 6-6. With one out, Marty Bechina tripled to center. Cal Greenfield and Estaban Martinez were walked intentionally to load bases. Anthony Faron ripped an 0-2 pitch into center scoring Bechina with the Mustang game winner.

SHOCKERS OF THE DAY
Rockford Christian (26-5) blasted Rockford-city rival No. 6 Rockford Boylan (23-1-1) behind Nolan Gazouski and Alec Powell 8-1. Gazouski fired a three-hitter at the Titans, with seven strikeouts. Gazouski added two singles and an RBI at the plate. Powell singled and had two RBI for the Royal Lions. Rockford Christian is a member of the Big Northern Conference Eastern Division. The Royal Lions (26-5, 9-2 Big Northern East) are currently in second place to the Rockets of Burlington Central (21-5, 12-0 Big Northern East) who they meet Tuesday and Thursday.
Conant (15-10) stunned No.10 Jacobs (20-6) in ten thrilling innings 3-2. Anthony Forte homered in the top of the tenth to put the Cougars up 3-2. Joseph Sekulich fired two scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win. Cougar starting pitcher Luke Downey allowed two unearned runs and five hits in his stellar seven innings of work for Conant.
