Quick Hitters: Mission Baseball - Position Players

On August 8, 2023, PBR Scouts were at South Meck HS in Charlotte, NC to take in the PBR Scout Day with Mission Baseball. The club on hand featured mostly 2026 grads. Position players went through a a full workout including running timed 30s and 60s, multiple rounds of BP, plus a defensive workout at their primary position. Pitchers threw a controlled bullpen with TrackMan tracking each pitch thrown.

Mission Baseball Scout Day - Quick Hitters
Long, lanky frame at 6-foot-5, 187-pounds. Worked to the left center gap during BP. Hands are loose with quickness, slight lift to the swing path. Top exit velocity at 87.6 mph, average EV at 79.4 mph.
6-foot, 170-pound frame. Stayed through the middle of the field during his BP rounds. Short path with his barrel working flat through the zone. Hands are quick with feel for the barrel. Top exit velocity at 86.1 mph, average EV at 76.3 mph. Arm reached 84 mph across the infield.
6-foot-1, 170-pound frame. Left hand hitter. Top exit velocity at 88.7 mph, average EV at 78.5 mph. Small load, back leg drives through the swing with some lift to the barrel path, hands have quickness.
6-foot, 165-pound frame. Left hand hitter that worked through the middle and to the opposite field during BP. Barrel stays inside the ball, slight lift to the swing path. Peak exit velocity at 89.8 mph, average EV at 80.9 mph. Arm topped at 79 mph from the outfield.
5-foot-7, 145-pound frame. Left hand hitter. Worked to both gaps during his BP rounds. Top exit velocity at 87.6 mph, average EV at 80.9 mph. Simple swing, hands have quickness, mostly flat barrel path. Arm topped at 78 mph from the outfield.
5-foot-8, 150-pound frame. Lined balls to both gaps during his BP rounds. Peak exit velocity at 87.7 mph, average EV at 78.2 mph. Simple, balanced swing, short path with his barrel working flat through the zone. Clean transfers behind the plate with his best pop time at 2.00.
5-foot-9, 165-pound frame. Worked through the middle of the field during BP. Top exit velocity at 82.7 mph, average EV at 72.8 mph. Flat swing path with his barrel getting length our front, hands have quickness. Arm up to 75 mph from behind the plate.
5-foot-8, 140-pound frame. Hands are quick, stays balanced taking a short path to the ball, barrel works flat through the zone. Stayed through the middle of the field posting a top exit velocity of 88.2 mph, average EV at 76 mph. Arm topped at 74 mph behind the plate.
Lanky frame with projection ahead at 6-foot-3, 175-pounds. Posted the top exit velocity of the event at 90.3 mph, average EV at 79.6 mph. LIned balls to both sides of the field. Quick hands with his barrel working inside and through the ball. Arm topped at 85 mph from the outfield.
