Brandon Hall
Mid-Atlantic Scouting Director

On August 8, 2023, PBR Scouts were at South Meck HS in Charlotte, NC to take in the PBR Scout Day with Mission Baseball.  The club on hand featured mostly 2026 grads.  Position players went through a a full workout including running timed 30s and 60s, multiple rounds of BP, plus a defensive workout at their primary position.  Pitchers threw a controlled bullpen with TrackMan tracking each pitch thrown.

Breaking ball with 11/5 tilt, after a slight hump out of the hand, peaking at 66, 2314rpm.  Slider was up to 69, 2261rpm with more horizontal action.

Trevor Cook, RHP, Lake Norman Charter, 2026

Solid ride, working true out of the hand. Top to bottom breaking ball is thrown with arm speed.  Firm, sits 70-73, 2259rpm. Short tilt that could grab more depth with maturity.

Average build, stands 5-foot-11, 160 pounds. Average arm speed through a long arm swing and high-¾ slot. Fastball peaked at 82.8, 2298rpm. Solid ride with some run on the fastball.  Showed some command for both sides of the plate, landing the fastball with intent. Loose breaking ball will continue to develop.  Up to 72, 2427rpm in this bullpen. Working for 10/4 tilt, getting some length horizontally at times.

Drew Darling, RHP, Charlotte Christian, 2026
