With 2023 now in the past, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage that can be found anywhere in 2024. Starting in February, we began releasing team previews for squads across the state. Ahead, we will have Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings coming your way.

2024 Spring Team Preview: Fairfield Christian Academy Knights

Team Name: Fairfield Christian Academy Knights
Head Coach: Josh Baker
Division: IV
2023 Record: 20-5
2023 Tourney Finish: District Semifinals loss to Northmor
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 5/8

Coach Outlook: "We will have to replace 2 All State players not only offensively, but in 2 key positions defensively. We will rely on our pitching experience to keep us in games as we return every inning on the mound from a 20 win season."

2024 Team Strengths:

  • Pitching

Top Returning Players:

  • Sr – Jeremiah Vance (SS) – 2023 2nd team all league, 2021 HM all league – 3-1 record on the mound with 4 saves. BA of 246, OBP of 479 and 30 runs scored. Committed to Muskingum to play baseball
  • Sr – Gabe Linn – (2B) – 4 year starter, HM All League 2023 – Committed to Ohio Christian to play baseball
  • Sr – Jimmy Schmitz – HM All District in 2022 and 2023, 2nd Team All League in 2022 and 2023. 5-1 on the mound with a 1.9 ERA
  • Sophomore – AJ Holbrook – 4-2 on the mound, 1.6 ERA, 2nd Team All District, 2nd Team All League
  • Sophomore – Brayden Stem – 2nd Team All District, 1st Team All League – Catcher – hit 338 with 36 RBI’s. Went 4-0 on the mound with an ERA of 1.05
