Preseason All-State Roster Preview: Part Eleven

Scott Hood
Oklahoma State Director

As we get prepared for our premiere event of the year in the Preseason All-State, we start the process by breaking down each individual attendee with notes on videos their game.  The Preseason All-State attracts some of the top talent from all across the state creating platforms and driving eye-balls for recruiters and scouts at the next level to help guide them throughout the spring recruiting.  This year's event will take place once again at Oral Roberts University of February 11th featuring a pro-style workout with data collected by our tech partners, social media coverage, and updated video for the profile.

Kaden Dean LHP / OF / Preston, OK / 2026

Dean comes to the Preseason All-State after we last saw him at hte WBO Tulsa Prospects Scout Day this past summer as well as getting a look at him the in Fall State Tournament.  The left-hander has worked the fastball in the mid to upper 80's in the past with strong attack and a feel for command.  His calling card is his ability to miss bats at a high level with a depth and feel for spin on a plus breaking ball.  Dean has some sneaky athleticism that he uses to his advantage on the mound and should be primed to be a must-follow prospect heading into his sophomore campaign.

Riley Ellis SS / 2B / Vian , OK / 2026

We last got eyes on the prospect from Vian at last year's Preseason All-State and will look to improve his stock this Sunday at ORU.  Ellis uses a short and compact rotational swing to generate exit velos up to 87.1 mph coming mainly from his strong rotational acceleration.  Defensively, Ellis shows a feel for footwork working around the ball and fields with a sure glove and soft hands.  Ellis gained valuable experience last season as a freshman for Vian and should be primed to make another big jump here in the near future.

Caston Fox SS / RHP / Poteau, OK / 2027

We last got eyes on the 2-way prospect from Poteau at the OKC Summer Open in July where Fox impressed especially with his raw arm strength.  Fox showed velos from the infield topping out at 84 mph and was 83 mph from the OF showing above average tools for the class.  The arm strength carried over onto the mound where the freshman worked fastballs up to 81 mph and showed tight spin and shapes on both the curveball and slider as well as a fading changeup.  Fox is just beginning to tap into his potential and should be a fun follow in the coming years.

Zakary Tucker C / SS / Edmond North, OK / 2026

Tucker returns to an event after last impressing at the OKC Summer Open in July.  Tucker uses his athletic/linear swing to create exit velos up to 85.5 mph and a max distance of 288 ft.  Where he really shined was in his quick release from behind the plate registering showcase pop times as low as 1.98 at 70 mph.  Tucker's actions especially at the plate project for far more power coming in the future with added strength and size to the frame.

Bentley Brown SS / 2B / Collinsville, OK / 2025

It's been almost two years since we collected data on Brown and he will look to update his profile with numbers more closely reflective of the type of player he has become.  Brown has been a big producer for Collinsville so far in his high school career, showing an athletic swing and a line drive gap to gap approach.  Defensively, Brown shows strong actions and ability to range laterally well.  Brown has a proven track record of producing in games and look for him to continue to see his stock rise as he heads into his Junior campaign.
