Preseason All-State Roster Preview: Part Four

Scott Hood
Oklahoma State Director

As we get prepared for our premiere event of the year in the Preseason All-State, we start the process by breaking down each individual attendee with notes on videos their game.  The Preseason All-State attracts some of the top talent from all across the state creating platforms and driving eye-balls for recruiters and scouts at the next level to help guide them throughout the spring recruiting.  This year's event will take place once again at Oral Roberts University of February 11th featuring a pro-style workout with data collected by our tech partners, social media coverage, and updated video for the profile.

Aidan Allred RHP / 1B / SANTA FE HS, OK / 2025

We last saw Allred at the 2023 Preseason All-State where the physically built right-hander showed some promise on the mound with a tilted fastball working up to 80 mph.  Allred also shows strong feel for spinning the breaking ball with good depth and action.  With his size and hand speed, it would not be shocking to see Allred see big jumps on the mound next week.

Jackson Blackmon 1B / LHP / Weatherford , OK / 2025

The 2-way from Weatherford returns to an event for the first time since 2022 and will look to improve his metrics for his profile at the Preseason All-State.  When we last saw him, he showed an athletic swing from the left side and showed some power potential with some strength at contact.  On the mound, Blackmon works from a direct over the top arm slot creating a lot of tilt and showing strong depth and feel for spin on the breaking ball.

Conner Chambers RHP / 3B / Bishop McGuinness, OK / 2025

Chambers has been high on the radar since a strong showing in multiple events during his sophomore year and checks into this year's Preseason All-State as one of the more projectable prospects in the class.  Chambers has already shown the ability to work the fastball in the upper 80's using his large frame and long levers.  The slider works in the mid 70's and he shows a feel for the changeup giving him a starter's profile.  Chambers also offers up some upside with the bat working exit velos up to 89.3 in the past and showcasing a big arm across the diamond.

Luke Beeler C / 1B / Holland Hall, OK / 2025

Beeler comes to the Preseason All-State after a strong performance at this past summer's Future Games and one of the top remaining uncommitted power bats in the state.  Beeler has worked exit velocities up to 98 mph in the past and shows a high hit tool that could compete in almost any lineup at the next level.  What makes him an even more interesting prospect is his ability to defend at an improved level, especially behind the plate where Beeler improved his catch and throw abilities working to pop times as low as 1.90.  Beeler's profile as a potential offensive backstop makes him a very intriguing prospect and should be one to follow heading into his Junior season.

Maddox Cotton C / OF / Bishop McGuinness, OK / 2025

The catcher from Bishop McGuinness stands at 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds and has showed an ability to make jumps throughout his career on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.  Cotton creates a strong momentum in the swing with a big leg kick and uphill bat path trying to work the ball up in the air.  Behind the plate, Cotton has a very quick release and throws show strong carry and accuracy to the bag as low as 2.0.

Lucas Crawford 1B / LHP / Stillwater, OK / 2026

We last got eyes on Crawford at the Top Prospect Underclass Games this past summer at O'Brate Stadium where the physical left-handed hitter showed off his strength at contact.  Crawford has one of the bigger frames in the class and uses it to his advantage to create some power with exit velocities up to 91.9 mph.  Crawford uses a simple rhythm and takes advantage of his longer levers in the swing to create strong carry and extension.

Robert Berry OF / 2B / Oklahoma Bible Academy, OK / 2026

We last caught the sophomore utility man at the Top Prospect Underclass Games back in June of last year.  Berry uses a linear swing with free and easy hands through the zone to generate exit velos up to 86 mph.  He works in the infield dirt with a sure glove and active feet and also offers up some positional versatility handling his own in the outfield.  Berry will look to improve his numbers at next week's Preseason All-State.

Walker Edwards C / 3B / Deer Creek, OK / 2026

Edwards returns to Prep Baseball event after last going through the OK Canes Scout Day this past October.  Edwards saw jumps in almost every category from January 23 to October and will look to keep those numbers on a steady rise.  The right-handed hitter shows good routes to the ball with strong barrel control to generate exit velos up to 86 mph.  Edwards can also jump on the mound and has shown the ability to work the fastball up to 80 mph and shows a feel for a sweeping breaking ball in the low 70's.  Edwards continues to get better each time we see him and should be primed to make more jumps at the Preseason All-State.

Drake Dotson OF / 3B / Pioneer Pleasant Vale, OK / 2025

Dotson is another prospect that has seen slight jumps in his game over the past year and will look to continue to show improvements at the Preseason All-State.  At the plate, Dotson's highest recorded exit velo of 84.2 mph doesn't seem to match the quick hand speed (24 max) and bat speed (73.8 max) which would suggest that more strength at contact is on the way.  Standing at a projectable 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, Dotson is just starting to scratch the surface of what type of player he's going to be.

Mason Avery RHP / C / Carl Albert, OK / 2026

Avery will take the mound at next week's Preseason All-State with our last looks at him coming at the OKC Sandlot Scout Day last May.   The 6-foot-3 and 210 pounder,  shows a smooth delivery with strong balance throughout to work the fastball up to 80 mph.  Avery also adds a slurvy breaking ball with feel for command.  With his size and well put together delivery, don't be surprised to see big jumps from him coming soon.
