Waco Preseason ID: Position Player Scouting Reports

TEXAS - On January 13th, we continued our 2024 Preseason with the Waco Preseason ID at Rice University. The day started off by the players running a 60, taking a round of BP, then throwing from thei. Following BP, Pitchers threw bullpens, where TrackMan data was recorded. Today, we take a look at the scouting reports from all position players at the event.

TOP PLAYERS

Tanner Carson 3B / SS / Southlake Carroll, TX / 2025

Positional Profile: 3B/SS Carson has made another big jump. Body looked great from a good off-season, and the numbers showed up too. More than half his round was with 100+ exit velo.
Body: 6-3, 224-pounds. Big athletic frame, plenty of room to pack on muscle mass as he continues to grow.
Hit: RHH. Straight stance, athletic and balanced down into the legs. Utilizes lower half well with good load on backside and stays in it through his swing. Does a good job of staying in and out. Bat stays consistently on plane and comes downwards through the zone creating good backspin. 80.8 mph bat speed with 15 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 106 max exit velocity, averaged 97.7 mph. 397' max distance. Carson shows the ability to drive the ball with authority to the pull side and to right center. He consitently produces triple digit exit velo's and has the ability to hit for a high average.
Arm: RH. INF-87 mph. Over the top when fielding and throwing with feet set. Strong, fast, and loose arm with quality ability to throw off balance and from differet arm slots on the move.
Defense: Tanner has good foot work in the infield and does a good job of recieving the ball with clean/smooth glovework.
ATH: 26.30 max vertical.

 

 

Patrick Ellison Jr OF / Mansfield Lake Ridge, TX / 2026

Positional Profile: OF/SS Patrick has all the makings of a true power hitter from the right handed batters box. He swings with aggression looking to do damage with each cut. With some work on his throwing and footwork in the OF he has the potential to be a standout player.
Body: 5-10, 210-pounds. Strong athletic frame with very solid lower half where he creates a lot of power from.
Hit: RHH. Stands tall in the box with a staggered closed stance. Uses legs well. Still room the clean things up as he matures. Quick hands. Creates good separation in the trunk allowing him to generate torque and power. Swing is somewhat upwards through the zone with the barrel. 79 mph bat speed with 7 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 102 max exit velocity, averaged 91.0 mph. 400' max distance. Patrick is explosive on his backside and shows plus power to the pullside and flashes the ability to drive the ball foul pole to foul pole.
Arm: RH. OF-82 mph. Long arm path with a high 3/4 release. Arm is stiff not allowing much lay back and torque. If Patrick can get his arm strength and mobility up he will be a quality OF arm able top gun down runners.
Defense: Recieves the ball deep. Gets body in front of the ball well but needs improvement on footwork in the outfield by softening up his glovework and getting downhill.
ATH: 6.65 runner in the 60. 1.61 and 3.72 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Moves very well with strong leg drive and accelerates downhill with agression. 32.80 max vertical.

 

 

Ryan Steele OF / OF / VICTORIA EAST H S, TX / 2026

Positional Profile: OF/OF Ryan is a very well rounded player that shows great athletic ability. He is well balanced in the box witha smooth swing that gives him the potential to hit for both power and average. Still just a sophmore, he will continue to develop and has a good chance of contributing to a roster at the next level.
Body: 5-11, 179-pounds. Athletic well balanced frame. Still very young with plenty of time to fill out.
Hit: RHH. Straight stance, balanced and athletic. Hands set high behind the head with a slight low leg lift. Good rythym with the hands and load on the backside. Keeps knob and hands inside the ball well as he rotates the trunk thorugh. Bat stays on plane through the zone. 69.5 mph bat speed with 18 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 83.5 mph. 337' max distance. Ryan has quality pull side power with gap to gap extra base hit ability. He shows the ability to adjust well and drive the ball where it is pitched.
Arm: RH. OF-84 mph. Straight over top long action. Strong and creates good leverage as he pulls down through the ball.
Defense: Plus foot work. Shows the ability to consistently get around the ball and field it out front and downhill.
ATH: 6.71 runner in the 60. 1.64 and 3.74 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Runs very well. Fast twitch and light on the feet with good leg drive. 31.20 max vertical.

 

 

Rylan Alaniz SS / 3B / Trinity, TX / 2026

Positional Profile: SS/3B Good athlete who plays with confidence. Good arm that shows up on in the outfield and on the dirt. Swings with intent, and shows some power. Has some polishing up to do, but all the tools are there.
Body: 5-9, 173-pounds. Athletic frame, will be able to add on muscle mass as he develops. Good lower half.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open stance with good backside load. Hands set up away from the body.
Power: 95 max exit velocity, averaged 87.4 mph. 338' max distance. Rylan drives the ball well to the middle of the field with some flashes of quality power to pull side as well. Makes contact out front well and extends hands through the ball.
Arm: RH. INF-89 mph. OF-88 mph. Quick over the top arm action, arm is loose and moves freely. Ball realeses from behind the head when not on the move. Shows solid ability to throw from lower arm slot on the move in the infield. Good carry from both INF and OF.
Defense: Stays in legs well when fielding the ball. Good horizontal movement. Quick feet, fields the ball deep, and pulls ball to center of body well after recieving.
ATH: 7.16 runner in the 60. 1.78 and 4.02 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. 26.70 max vertical.

 

 

Hunter Fryman C / RHP / Troy, TX / 2027

Positional Profile: C/RHP Hunter is a young player that shows promise of developing into a quality catcher and right handed bat. He also shows ability on the mound and with time could be a solid RHP on the bump as well. As he matures a lot will clean up and he will be one to follow.
Body: 5-9, 174-pounds. Athletic frame and just being a 2027 Hunter, will be able to really fill his body out and turn into a strong power player with time spent in the weight room during his offseasons.
Hit: RHH. Stands tall in the box with a staight stance, hands set high above the back shoulder and away from the body. Lots of movement. Hunter has a flat bat path through the zone due to his dominant bottom hand pulling. He is very top half dominant and does have a moderate leg kick, but does not utilize the lower half in his swing. 64.9 mph bat speed with 7 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 89 max exit velocity, averaged 77.0 mph. 273' max distance. Hunter catches barrels out front pretty well when the ball is in the top of the zone. With his bottom hand and upper half being so dominant in his swing he shows some ability to hit hard line drives to the pull side. With time and working on using his legs to stay through the ball more he can develop some real pop.
Arm: RH. C-76 mph. Strong arm at his age. Good armspeed with quick release, creates good lay back.
Defense: 1.95-2.08 pop times. Does a fairly well at sticking the ball where its pitched. Has room for improvement with his recieving. Hunter's glove is a little stiff and could smoothen up a bit.
ATH: 7.53 runner in the 60. 1.81 and 4.19 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Runs tall with arms/shoulders a little stiff. Hunter needs some work learning to get down into his legs for more explosion and acceleration. 24.20 max vertical.

 

 


BEST OF THE REST (LISTED ALPHABETICALLY)

Donovan Arroyo SS / RHP / Jersey Village , TX / 2025

Positional Profile: SS/RHP Athletic player that shows good range in the INF and also covers ground well in the OF. Plays hard and with confidence.
Body: 5-8, 170-pounds. Solid athletic frame with lots of potential to add muscle mass.
Hit: RHH. Straight stance with loose hands. High leg kick, decent load on backside. Hands drop as he swings bringing the bat path up through the zone lifitng the ball. 72.2 mph bat speed with 16 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 81.4 mph. 322' max distance. Donovan flashes some decent power to the pull side.
Arm: RH. INF-81 mph. OF-86 mph. Decent arm, over the top release. Shows some ability to throw on the move, but needs to work on the ability to throw from different/lower arm slot.
Defense: Does a good job of fielding the ball out front, but should work on getting in the legs and attacking the ball with more downhill momentum.
ATH: 7.32 runner in the 60. 1.78 and 4.06 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Accelerates well through first 10 yds. Needs to work on keeping that downhill momentum after his initial start. 25.50 max vertical.

 

 

Kael Brentham SS / 3B / Troy, TX / 2026

Positional Profile: SS/3B Kael is a promising player still young with time to develop. As he matures and works to clean some things up, he could develop some real pop with his bat.
Body: 5-9, 172-pounds. Lean athletic frame, with long legs. Great potential to fill out and pack on muscle mass as he matures.
Hit: LHH. Tall stance in the box with hands high bat rested on back shoulder. Slight load on backside. Casts hands a bit with flat bat path through the zone. 62.2 mph bat speed with 11 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 85 max exit velocity, averaged 68.7 mph. 298' max distance. Kael shows good ability to drive the ball up the middle. Still needs to learn how to utilize legs more as he matures and gets stronger.
Arm: RH. INF-77 mph. 3/4 arm slot, long on the backside with the arm. Flashes some ability to drop arm when throwing on the move.
Defense: Brentham does a god a job of fielding the ball out in front and stays in his legs well. Glovework is a little stiff and rigid. Needs to smoothen up for more fluid transitions and cushioning of the ball.
ATH: 7.01 runner in the 60. 1.76 and 3.94 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Runs well with good leg drive and continues acceleration. 27.80 max vertical.

 

 

Maximus Broderick OF / C / James Bowie, TX / 2025

Positional Profile: OF/C Maximus is a versitile player who has the potential to contribute from both behind the plate and as a solid outfielder.
Body: 5-10, 148-pounds. Long lanky frame that has the potential of filling out with more time spent in the weight room.
Hit: RHH. Tall slightly closed stance in the box. Hands high behind the head with bat laid back vertically with barrel towards the ground. Hands stay up through the zone staying on top on the balls thorugh contact. Moderate leg kick wiith decent load on the backside. Barrel wraps around the ball. Footwork has room for improvement to put more force into the ground to stabalize his lower half better. 67.4 mph bat speed with 19 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 95 max exit velocity, averaged 86.1 mph. 333' max distance. Maximus shows some pop to the pullside, once he improves his stabilization of the lower half he will have the potetial to drive the balls to all sides of the field.
Arm: RH. C-72 mph. OF-83 mph. Over the top arm action and moderately quick. Releases the ball slightly early. Maximus needs to stay behind and through his throw better to give his ball better ride. Puts the ball on target pretty well.
Defense: 2.08-2.22 pop times. Maximus recieves the ball out front as a catcher and should let the ball get deeper while also focusing on coming up through the ball with the thumb down a little better. Because of his recieving way out front, his transfer from mitt to hand could use some improvement when it comes to fluiddity and speed. From the OF he does a good job fielding out in front of the lead leg, but needs to get down into the legs better.
ATH: 7.73 runner in the 60. 1.81 and 4.24 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Runs downhill, looks to be a little heavy footed, can imrpove with more agility/footwork training. 43.30 max vertical.

 

 

Grayson Chancellor LHP / OF / Saginaw, TX / 2025

Positional Profile: LHP/OF Grayson has good upside. With some work and more time his swing could develop some good power from the left handed batters box. He also shows promise on the bump and could give hitters some trouble.
Body: 6-2, 193-pounds. Tall lanky frame that will be able to hold 10+ more lbs of muscle. Lots of potential to turn into a power player type body.
Hit: LHH. Straight stance with a wide set up. Weight heavily on set on the back leg. Hands set up just below the back shoulder. Moderate leg kick with good load on the backside. Catches the ball with the barrel out front with a long swing path to the zone. Good balance in the box. 65.8 mph bat speed with 15 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 95 max exit velocity, averaged 88.5 mph. 355' max distance. Grayson has a heavy pull swing and flashes some power to the pullside. He does a nice job of barreling the ball up consistently. Potential to develop into a power southpaw bat with the help of quality off season training.
Arm: LH. OF-83 mph. High 3/4 arm slot with average strength and speed. Long arm path and slightly jerky with a hitch on the backside. Arm does have some whip to it.
Defense: Grayson needs some work on his footwork fielding the ball and should work on attacking the ball with donwhill momentum.
ATH: 7.71 runner in the 60. 1.74 and 4.14 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Long strides, needs to work on getting downhill. 22.10 max vertical.

 

 

Aiden Felker OF / RHP / Cedar Ridge, TX / 2025

Positional Profile: OF/RHP Aiden is a solid athlete who runs well and will cover ground in the outfield. If he cleans up a few things with his swing, he could be a high OBP player.
Body: 6-2, 162-pounds. Tall and wirey/athletic frame with plenty of room to fill out and add muscle mass as he matures.
Hit: LHH. Straight stance with fairly straight front leg and a bend in the back leg. Weight set in the back leg. Hands set up just above the back shoulder with elbow tucked. Aiden is pull heavy from the left side of the plate. Hands cast a bit resulting in the barrel wrapping around the ball as it come upwards through the zone. 64.6 mph bat speed with 20 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 90 max exit velocity, averaged 78.3 mph. 317' max distance. Aiden flahses some power to the pull side. If he learns to free up his hands a bit and clean up his bat path so that it stays in the zone longer, he has the potential to utilize his length/leverage to drive the ball to both sides of the field.
Arm: RH. OF-80 mph. Long and loose arm with average arm speed that has the potential to develop into quality OF arm as he gets stronger.
Defense: Fields the ball out front fairly well and does a decent job of staying in the legs. Shows the ability to recieve the ball with a soft glove. Needs to work on staying downhill when attacking the ball.
ATH: 7.02 runner in the 60. 1.74 and 3.96 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Runs well, especially for his body type. Utilizes his long strides effeciently. 28.60 max vertical.

 

 

Robert Hernandez 2B / 3B / Cedar Ridge, TX / 2024

Positional Profile: 2B/3B Robert is a good athlete that shows a smooth glove in the infield and runs well. With some improvement on arm strength and his bat he could turn into a quality INF who can run with a high on base percentage.
Body: 5-11, 168-pounds. Lean atheltic frame with long legs that he moves well with.
Hit: RHH. Straight stance with feet shoulder width apart weight evenly distrubuted. Front foot turned inwards with hands set even w/ the back shoulder and barrel resting on it. Robert consistently makes contact out in front of the plate and his barrel stays on top of the ball at contact. No leg kick, just a slight shift of weight from front to back. Minimal utilization of the lower half in his swing. 67.2 mph bat speed with 14 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 86 max exit velocity, averaged 75.3 mph. 309' max distance. Robert shows the ability to shoot the ball up the middle and to right-center. He stays on top of the ball resulting in a lot of balls on the gorund which could play to his advantage with his speed.
Arm: RH. INF-78 mph. Releases from a 3/4 arm slot. Arm needs to get stronger, but Robert shows that he can throw from multiple different slots when on the move.
Defense: Soft glove when recieving the ball and has a smooth transition from glove to hand. Shows good horizontal movement with clean footwork.
ATH: 6.94 runner in the 60. 1.70 and 3.90 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Gets after it with aggressive strides. Runs very well with gradual acceleration as he moves. 29.50 max vertical.

 

 

Brandon Klanika 3B / 1B / Axtell, TX / 2025

Positional Profile: 3B/1B Brandon has the ability to have some big time pop from the right handed batters box. With time and some work he could develop into a power hitter.
Body: 5-10, 203-pounds. Stocky frame that has potential to fill out with some time in the weight room to add some muscle mass.
Hit: RHH. Straight stance with feet just outside the shoulders. Hands set up just below the back shoulder with slight movement. Weight evenly distributed and in the toes. Brandon drops the hands as he swings creating an uppercut through the zone. Feet are a little unstable causing him to be a bit off balance and to pull off the ball early. 73.7 mph bat speed with 16 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 94 max exit velocity, averaged 84.2 mph. 333' max distance. Brandon is heavy to the pull side and shows some nice power to that side of the field when he catches the ball out front. He does a good job of barreling the ball up.
Arm: RH. INF-78 mph. Releases the ball over the top primarily and someitmes from a high 3/4 slot. Ball has some armside fade to it accross the diamond. Armspeed and strength needs improvement.
Defense: Shows some glimpes of smoothness with the glovework. Heavy feet with below average footwork, and needs to work on attacking the ball with better downhill aggression and confidence.
ATH: 8.00 runner in the 60. 1.88 and 4.37 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Runs tall and is heavy on the feet with short strides. 23.10 max vertical.

 

 

Ethan Minjarez OF / RHP / Pflugerville, TX / 2025

Positional Profile: OF/RHP Ethan is a good athlete that moves very well and coveres a lot of ground in the OF. His swing is very balanced and he has the potential to hit for average and take a lot of bags on the base path.
Body: 5-7, 154-pounds. Compact athletic frame that generates a lot of fast twitch movements.
Hit: LHH. Slightly open stance from the left side with hands set up close to the body above the back shoulder. Balanced with weight evenly distributed. Fast hands that stay inside the ball well. Inside out bat path that gets through the zone quick. 69.5 mph bat speed with 19 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 95 max exit velocity, averaged 83.4 mph. 319' max distance. Ethan drives the ball to the opposite field well by keeping his hands inside to out when he makes contact. He lets the ball get deep but also flashed the ablilty to get the hands out front on an inside pitch to take it pullside.
Arm: RH. OF-84 mph. Fast twitch arm with a quick over the top release. Has some decent carry on the ball.
Defense: Quick in the outfield and can cover a lot of space. Shows good footwork and recieves the ball oput front.
ATH: 6.85 runner in the 60. Runs well and gets downhill with some aggression and good leg drive. 31.40 max vertical.

 

 

Hayden O RHP / OF / Frisco Centennial, TX / 2026

Positional Profile: RHP/OF Hayden is a solid fast twitch young athlete. He plays hard and throws/swings with aggression and posses multiple tools that when polished up have the potential to play at the next level.
Body: 5-10, 178-pounds. Wirey athletic frame. With some more time in the weight room he will be able to fill out well.
Hit: RHH. Open stance with hands set above the shoulder weight slightly in the back leg on the toes. Hands set slighlty above the back shoulder, barrel laid back vertically. Hands separate and float back well. Slight load on the backside with low front to back toe tap and scissor kicks with the back leg. Barrel comes down through the zone but doesn't quite stay on plane due to heavy east to west rotation. 71.4 mph bat speed with 13 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 84.7 mph. 339' max distance. Hayden shows some power to left center and does a good job of driving through the ball to the pullside of the field. With work on a more balanced lower half in his swing he has the potential to barrel up balls up the middle and to right center as well.
Arm: RH. OF-86 mph. Long on the backside with above average strength and average arm speed. Ball has good carry through his target and stays true.
Defense: Clean footwork and smooth glove. Fields the ball out in front of the front leg well and does a good job on getting down into the legs.
ATH: 7.15 runner in the 60. 1.69 and 3.94 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Moves well and gets down hill. Aggressive runner with some good acceleration. 26.60 max vertical.

 

 

Cameron Parsons RHP / C / Crawford, TX / 2027

Positional Profile: RHP/C Cameron is a younger player that shows some quality traits. With more time to mature and develop he could turn into a solid player to follow.
Body: 5-9, 150-pounds. Loose and slim frame with long legs that will continue to fill out with more time spent in the weight room as he is just a freshman.
Hit: RHH. Stands tall in the box with hands set up below the back shoulder and slightly away from the body. Lots of hand movement. Minimal load on the backside, does not utilize the lower half. Creates separation with the hands as he slightly loads into the back hip. Barrel stays on plane pretty well as it comes upwards through the zone. Makes contact out in front. 64.7 mph bat speed with 10 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 85 max exit velocity, averaged 76.5 mph. 308' max distance. Cameron flashes some pullside power and the ability to take the ball back up the middle as he catches the ball out in front of the plate.
Arm: RH. C-71 mph. Long arm path that needs work on release point consistency and quickness. Stays on top of the ball well at release.
Defense: 2.10-2.19 pop times. A little rigid when recieving and stabs a bit. Needs to work on a softer glove and smoother/quicker transition from mit to hand when throwing.
ATH: 7.53 runner in the 60. 1.78 and 4.14 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Runs fairly well at his age with long strides. Comes up out of his legs as he is accelerating. 25.80 max vertical.

 

 

Carson Pruett C / 3B / Leander Rouse, TX / 2025

Positional Profile: C/3B Carson has some work to do when it comes to his balance and using his lower half, especially at the plate. But has several athletic qualities and a good arm from both behind the plate and the INF.
Body: 5-9, 181-pounds. Medium frame that has room to fill out as he matures.
Hit: RHH. Slightly closed stance with hands set above the back shoulder Direct to the ball, catches pitches out front. Bat stays fairly flat through the zone. Major hitch with he hands. Needs to work on getting into stronger more balanced position. Minimal load on the backside with a forward toe tap. 65.5 mph bat speed with 20 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 88 max exit velocity, averaged 80.7 mph. 300' max distance. Heavy to the pullside and top hand dominant resulting in top spin. Due to having high rotational accel. he's able to get to the inside pitch out front.
Arm: RH. C-75 mph. INF-82 mph. Quick release from behind the plate, short arm action. A bit inconsistent with the arm slot and release point but is primarily over the top with a release from behind the head. Ball has good carry form both behind the plate and INF. Puts it on the traget well.
Defense: 2.04-2.12 pop times. Stays under the ball and recieves it well with the mitt from behind the plate. Shows some good footwork and smooth glove in the infield. Can move side to side and has good range in the INF. Needs work on throwing from lower arm slot on the move.
ATH: 7.74 runner in the 60. 1.77 and 4.22 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Runs tall and rigid. Needs to work on getting into the legs and staying in them to get better acceleration and downhill momentum. 25.30 max vertical.

 

 

Jackson Ritz 3B / SS / Clifton, TX / 2027

Positional Profile: 3B/SS Jackson shows lots of promise as a freshman. He's a good athlete that runs well and has the potential to develop into a quality INF and power bat from the right side.
Body: 5-7, 150-pounds. Slim and lean athletic frame with plenty of room for muscle mass to be added as he is only a freshman.
Hit: RHH. Open stance and stands tall in the box with hands set up at the back shoulder. Bat rested on shoulder with good backside load and low leg lift/toe tap. Stays behind the ball at contact and has loose hands. Barrel come through the zone with an uppercut catching the ball out front. 64.4 mph bat speed with 18 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 83.1 mph. 323' max distance. Jackson shows the ability to hit the ball with power to the pull side and finds the ball with the barrell pretty consistantly. Creates a lot of backspin at contact.
Arm: RH. INF-82 mph. Strong loose arm from the INF that moves well. Long arm action that produces good leverage and creates solid carry on the ball.
Defense: Quick feet and good balance. Shows good feel with the glove, solid range, and attacks the ball downhill.
ATH: 6.86 runner in the 60. 1.69 and 3.83 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Moves extremely well. gets into the legs and creates good downhill momentum. 31.90 max vertical.

 

 

Garrett Rowden SS / 2B / Lubbock Cooper Liberty , TX / 2026

Positional Profile: SS/2B Garrett has the chance to develop some quality power as a hitter and become a well rounded player. He just needs to fill out and clean up a few aspects of his game as he matures over the next several years.
Body: 5-8, 168-pounds. Medium slim frame with room to gain muscle.
Hit: RHH. Stands tall in the box. Feet just ouside of shoulders with weight evenly distributed between front and back leg. Hands set up slightly above the back shoulder with slight wiggle. Slight load on the backside and heavy out on the front foot. Low front to back leg lift. Barrel comes down through the zone. Swing is a bit stiff. Needs to free up the hands for more torque and acceleration through the zone. 65.7 mph bat speed with 7 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 90 max exit velocity, averaged 79.3 mph. 311' max distance. Garrett drives the ball up the middle and to left-center. With some work on the lower half and looseness of the hands his bat could develop some quiality pop to these parts of the field.
Arm: RH. INF-78 mph. Loose arm with high 3/4 release. Average strength and decent carry on the ball across the diamond.
Defense: Decent footwork, fields the ball out front well. Glovework is stiff and needs to soften up.
ATH: 7.54 runner in the 60. 1.86 and 4.19 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Runs tall with heavy feet. Needs to work on getting into the legs and creating better downhill momentum and leg drive. 24.10 max vertical.

 

 

Luke Sandefur 3B / RHP / Aledo, TX / 2026

Positional Profile: 3B/RHP Luke is a solid athlete who shows smoothness both in the INF and on the bump. With time to develop he could add value to a lineup with his bat, and shows the potential to develop into a well rounded RHP with a quality 3 pitch mix.
Body: 5-8, 167-pounds. Medium athletic frame with solid lower half.
Hit: RHH. Open stance with feet shoulder width and weight evenly distributed. Hands set slightly above the back shoulder with barrel paralell to the ground. Good load on the back side with low/moderate leg lift. Quick hands that whip the barrel upwards through the zone. 67 mph bat speed with 8 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 94 max exit velocity, averaged 85.1 mph. 316' max distance. Luke flashes the ablility to pull the ball with some decent power. He rotates heavily east to west with the upper half resulting in him wrapping around the ball at times rather than staying through it.
Arm: RH. INF-80 mph. Slightly stiff 3/4 arm slot. Arm pretty quickly and he does a good job of throwing from lower slots when on the move. Has some decent carry on the ball when he stays through his throw.
Defense: Good glovework, brings ball to center of the body well after recieving. Smooth transfer from glove to hand.
ATH: 7.32 runner in the 60. 1.83 and 4.09 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Average runner with long strides but does a good job of starting down in the legs. 30.50 max vertical.

 

 

Trip Smith C / RHP / Troy, TX / 2027

Positional Profile: C/RHP Trip is a young player who has plenty of time to develop and hone in on his skills behind the plate and with the bat. With time and work he has the potential to grow into a solid player.
Body: 5-10, 144-pounds. Slim wirey frame that will continue to fill out as he grows into it and spends time in the weight room.
Hit: RHH. Straight stance with feet set wide. Slight bend in the legs, hands set above the back shoulder behind the ear. Barrel laid back vertically towards ground. Slight load on the backside with toe tap. Drops hands as he loads creating long bat path with a heavy uppercut through the zone. 61.4 mph bat speed with 5 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 82 max exit velocity, averaged 71.4 mph. 291' max distance. Trip is a heavy pullside hitter. Needs work on his balance in the box and rotating through the pitch better. Still young, has the potential to drive the ball with some cleaning up of the mechanics.
Arm: RH. C-68 mph. Loose arm with below avg strength. Inconsistent arm action, but did show a short quick arm on a few throws.
Defense: 2.15-2.25 pop times. Smooth with his transfer from mit to hand. Needs work on staying on line with the feet when coming up out of his secondary position to throw. This will help his ball flight path and repeatability of the arm. Decent glovework getting the ball into the zone. Needs to works on a softer glove and coming up through the ball.
ATH: 7.57 runner in the 60. 1.79 and 4.18 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Average speed for his age. Runs tall with decent downhill momentum through the first 30 yds. 23.20 max vertical.

 

 

Brant Usherwood C / RHP / Artesia, NM / 2026

Positional Profile: C/RHP Brant shows promise from behind the plate with his glovework and arm. Needs to clean up some areas of his hitting, but has the potential to develop into a quality well rounded catcher.
Body: 5-11, 182-pounds. Moderately athletic frame with room to fill out and add muscle mass.
Hit: RHH. Stands tall with straight stance, feet shoulder width and weight evenly distributed. Hands set below the back shoulder, barrel nearly straight up. Slight wiggle of the hands. Bat path is pretty flat and stays on plane through the zone. Minimal load on the backside with hips sliding forward as he swings. Casts hands causing the barrel to wrap around the ball. Bat path is pretty flat and stays on plane through the zone. 69.1 mph bat speed with 13 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 81.2 mph. 293' max distance. Brant shows the ability to drive the ball back up the middle. Tends to top spin balls to the pullside.
Arm: RH. C-75 mph. Good arm with a short arm action and release from behind the ear. Puts the ball on the bag well.
Defense: 2.05-2.15 pop times. Solid transfer that allows the arm to be on time when throwing down. Recieves the ball well keeping the pitch on the white on the plate.
ATH: 8.20 runner in the 60. 1.92 and 4.49 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. 25.50 max vertical.

 

 

Drew Wells 1B / LHP / Vista Ridge, TX / 2027

Positional Profile: 1B/LHP Drew is a solid young athlete who is versitile. He can be a contributor with his bat and also has potential to be an affective spouthpaw on the bump.
Body: 5-10, 193-pounds. Solid athletic frame, especially for his age.
Hit: LHH. Wide stance with hands set close to body at the back shoulder, balanced. High leg lift with pretty good load on the backside. Quick hands. Barrel comes up through the zone. In and out of the zone pretty quickly, catches the ball out front. 75.1 mph bat speed with 15 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 95 max exit velocity, averaged 85.2 mph. 336' max distance. Drew has an aggressive fast twitch swing that allows him to get the hands to the zone quickly. Has some pullside pop, but also flashed the ability to drive the ball to center as well.
Arm: LH. INF-75 mph. Short stiff arm action. Arm is quick with over the top release.
Defense: Moves the feet fairly well. Shows some quality glovework and smoothness.
ATH: 7.77 runner in the 60. 1.80 and 4.25 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Average runner,. Runs very stiff and rigid with choppy strides. 23.90 max vertical.

 

 

Jaeden Wilson OF / OF / Allen, TX / 2026

Positional Profile: OF/OF Jaeden is a great athlete who runs well and posses lots of fast twitch movement. He shows a good balanced swing and plays hard in the OF.
Body: 6-0, 172-pounds. Lean atheltic frame.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open stance holds weight in the toes. Hands set high and slightly away from the body. Casts hands as he swing wrapping around the ball a bit. Minimal load on the backside, aggressive swing. 66.1 mph bat speed with 21 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 88 max exit velocity, averaged 73.2 mph. 290' max distance. Catches the ball out front, heavy to the pullside. Gets barrel to the ball pretty consistently, flashes the ability to drive the ball pull side and up the middle.
Arm: RH. OF-83 mph. Short quick arm from the OF. Shows good arm strength, needs to work on freeing up the arm a bit on the backside for more whip and carry on the ball.
Defense: Fields the ball well out front with a soft glove. Attacks downhill with agression and stays in his legs pretty well.
ATH: 6.89 runner in the 60. 1.74 and 3.88 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Runs very well with aggressive downhill momentum. 27.50 max vertical.
