The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we wind down the '23 calendar and look towards the start of the '24 CIF High School baseball season by taking a look at some of the top uncommitted class of '24 athletes. This group of players is pulled directly from our '24 Rankings. They remain as the top players left on the board going into the start of their senior seasons.

We invite you to get to know them through their data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on '24 SS Jonathan Long a 5'10 160 lbs. prospect out of Fountain Valley HS in Orange County. With an athletic frame showing some strength and with good athletic ability running the 60 in 6.87 seconds and a 1.71 sec 10 yard sprint he shows the potential to stick up the middle athletically. His feet are quick with the actions in his hands and ability to play laterally plus downhill to have a chance to play SS, but arm strength and accuracy may be better suited for 2B or 3B at the next level. With a quick and compact swing from the RH side with good connection in his lower half and hands through the zone. Showing an approach to stay through the middle of the field with doubles power currently Long plays to his strength and looks to have a good feel for the barrel with a 75% sweet spot metric. Another talented uncommitted INF prospect out of the talented Orange County region for college coaches to be checking in on.
