No. 16 Bethesda-CC traveled to Clarksburg Wednesday afternoon in a Montgomery County match-up featuring both teams aces. In the bottom of the second, Clarksburg loaded the bases and scored the first run of the ballgame after Andrew Abrams was hit by a pitch forcing in Mike Roenick. The highlight of the three run inning came off the bat of Nate Proctor when he drove a line drive into the right-center field gap for a two-RBI double.

Bethesda-CC would answer with two runs in the top of the third as John Hemmer drove in Will Philpott on a ground ball back up the middle and later scored on an error. The Barons would tie it and take the lead in the fourth when Parker Silver singled back up the middle scoring Coulson Hamblett and Philpott.

After a scoreless fourth for Clarksburg, the Coyotes tied the ballgame back up in the 5th when Roenick lined one just over the shortstop's head for an RBI. The tie ballgame wouldn't last long however as Silver was back at it again in the 6th with another RBI single scoring Philpott to give the Barons the 5-4 lead.

Bethesda-CC exploded for eight more runs in the top of the seventh to seal the deal on what was a really close game that could have gone either way.

Coyotes starting pitcher Sam Batis went five innings allowing four runs (one earned) on two hits, walked three and struck out nine. Barons left-handed starter James Springer (Fordham) went just three innings surrendering three runs (two earned) on two hits, five walks and struck out seven. James Pfaff came on in relief of Springer in the fourth and went two innings for the win allowing one run on two hits and Henry Smith closed out the 13-4 win pitching the final two innings, not allowing a base-runner while striking out two. Silver was the player of the game for the Barons finishing 3-for-4 with five RBI's, and one run scored.
