Over 45 players from the 2021-2023 graduating classes came to Towson University last week to showcase their skills in a pro-style workout, batting practice, and live game. Below are quick notes from our PBR Maryland staff on several players that stood out. Be sure to follow us in the weeks to come as we release our full evaluations on every player from the event.

Game 1

Catoctin 2023 RHP/1B Joseph McMannis jumped on the scene as a very nice potential two-way player at the next level. Projectable 6'2'', 180 pound frame running his fastball up to 82 mph while working a scoreless frame in which he punched out two. Deceptive, live arm with a 67-68 mph breaking ball to go along with the fastball. McMannis also showed some power at the plate taking two solid rounds of BP and ripped a triple to the right-center field gap during the game.

DeMatha 2021 OF Dwayne Preston II topped two measurable categories during the workout, running an event best 6.76 60-yard time and recorded a 96 mph exit velocity. Preston II is extremely strong at 5'11, 195 pounds and that physicality translated to the plate as he launched several balls deep and took one over during BP.
