Quick Hitters: Canes Central Scout Day - Hitters

On Saturday October 21st PBR of North Carolina was on hand at the Historic Durham Bulls Park for a Scout Day with the Canes Central Organization The Scout Day featured players from the 2024-2027 grad classes.
The day started with catchers going through a defensive workout, followed by pitchers throwing a controlled bullpen with Trackman collecting ball flight data. After the pitchers, the position players ran a laser timed 60 then took BP on the field with Trackman gathering ball flight information. The night concluded with outfielders and infielders going through a defensive evaluation.

6-foot-2, 170-pounds. Lined balls to both sides of the field. Quick hands with a short path to the ball, barrel works level through the zone. Has feel for the barrel. Top exit velocity at 93.8 mph, average EV at 87.4 mph. Solid actions on the infield.
Alexander Chalfant, 1B/OF, 2024
6-foot-3, 225-pounds. Left hand hitter. Hit several balls hard to his pull side. Top exit velocity at 96.3 mph, average EV at 88.9 mph. Hands are strong, barrel stays through the ball using a two hand finish.
5-foot-10, 145-pound frame. Left hand hitter with projection ahead. Worked through the middle of the field during his BP rounds. Peak exit velocity at 84.9 mph, average EV at 82.1 mph. Hands are quick, some lift to the barrel path getting extension out front.
6-foot, 175-pound frame. Left hand hitter. Flat swing path with quickness to his hands. Worked gap to gap with a line drive approach. Peak exit velocity at 81.3 mph, average EV at 75.4 mph.
5-foot-9, 150-pound build. Left hand hitter. Hands are quick, barrel stays through the zone. Worked mostly to his pull side posting a top exit velocity of 89.2 mph, average EV at 81.2 mph. Did show ability to line the ball to the opposite field.
5-foot-1, 140-pound build with projection ahead. Worked through the middle of the field during BP. Direct path with quick hands, stays balanced. Top exit velocity at 82.4 mph, average EV at 76 mph.
5-foot-7, 140-pound frame. Left hand hitter with a simple, balanced swing. Keeps his barrel through the zone with quick hands. Used the whole field posting a peak exit velocity of 79.5 mph, average EV at 66.3 mph.
5-foot-11, 203-pound frame. Hands are strong and quick, some lift to the swing path getting extension through the middle of the field. Top exit velocity at 95.4 mph, average EV at 74.1 mph. Has arm strength from behind the plate with his throws topping at 80 mph.
Strong build at 5-foot-10, 1220-pounds. Worked mostly through the middle and to the left center gap during BP. Strong quick hands, flat swing path getting extension out front. Top exit velocity at 97.9 mph, average EV at 86.4 mph.
5-foot-11, 145-pound frame. Left hand hitter. Athletic in the box, hands are quick with his barrel working flat through the zone. Worked mostly through the middle and to his pull side posting a top exit velocity of 82.4 mph, average EV at 77.5 mph.
Large frame at 6-foot-5, 280-pounds. Posted the top exit velocity of the day at 100.8 mph, average EV at 84.9 mph. Made hard contact to his pull side. Strong hands with a flatter swing path.
