New England Insider: Early Signing Period - Division 1 Recruiting Class Breakdown
*In Alphabetical Order

The NCAA early signing period started November 9th, 2016 and will run through the 18th. With the start of the fall signing period upon us, we look to break down each individual Division I commitment, where they are headed and what tools they will bring with them.

Over the next two weeks, we will breakdown the recruiting hauls for the in-state Division II, Division III, NAIA, and JUCO programs as well as out of state programs that have signed players from the New England area.

Boston College Eagles

Overview: The Eagles did another nice job with their recruiting class, keeping 4 high profile players from New England at home. Coach Gambino is coming off a stellar campaign with a trip to a Super Regional. The additions of Jack Hodgson, Will Hesslink, and Nick Couhig could make an immediate impact on their program.

Two-Way Prospects:

Will Hesslink comes to BC via Rice Memorial HS in Vermont. On the mound, shows a plus ¾ slot with good feel for his secondary pitches. Pitches in the mid-80s. The bat showed very well during the events we saw him and showed a good feel for defense at first base.

The Arms:

Jack Hodgson looks to make an immediate impact on the BC program. Good feel for pitching with a great deal of upside.

Nick Couhig will arrive at Boston College via the Cape. The Falmouth, Mass product comes right at hitters. The fastball is live and the spin pitch is a good one.

Positional Players:

Chris Galland is a smooth and athletic right- handed hitting outfielder who should compete for time immediately at BC.

Brandon Stone is a switch hitting second baseman from Florida who shows good skills defensively and the ability to handle the bat.

Reyce Curnane is a big, physical left-handed hitting bat from PA. Look for him to take advantage of the field at BC.

Brown Bears

Overview: Coach Achilles has 5 players committed so far for the class of 2017. Targeting 2 two-way guys, 2 more position players and a left-handed pitcher. Still in a rebuilding process, these players seem to be ready to step in and compete right away.

Two-Way Players:
