TN HS Team Preview: Bradley Central Bears
March 1, 2024
The 2024 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Murfreesboro at The Spring Fling as they compete for a state championship, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing other pieces of content covering the Volunteer State.
Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our players of the week, updating the Power 25 and much more.
*Please note the information has been gathered from head coaches across the state, based on their replies to the questionnaire we distributed over this offseason.

TEAM OUTLOOK
The Bradley Central Bears are coming off of a decet past season that saw them finish 18-13 in a loaded district with the likes of McMinn County and Walker Valley. They handled Ooltewah and McMinn County, sweeping both their series, while also spitting their 4 game series against Walker Valley 2-2. They started out hot in the regional tournament winning both of their games before losing their final two games to close out their season. This year’s club lost a bit off of that team and having to replace a couple of arms will be tough but they also return quite a bit in the lineup and once again look strong up the middle and on the bump. ‘24 LHP/OF Lee University signee Alex Brew will lead the charge in the leadoff spot where he finds ways to get on base and battles at the plate. He also looks to be the Bears ace this season on the bump where he comes in mid 80’s from the left-side with a 3 pitch mix. “24 OF Teigan Cassada looks to roam a corner spot and should slide somewhere in the top half of the lineup with speed in the 6.70-6.80 range. “24 Luke Keith is a big physical body that looks to play at the next level in football, but is interested in going out with a bang in his senior season and will slide back into the DH role. ‘24 Tito Williams will be playing football at Northwestern in college but is back to finish off his senior season and should command CF with speed on the basepaths. He will slide back into the 4 hole where he carries some serious power. ‘24 Joshua Leek looks to get more defensive action this season and likely mans a corner infield spot but primarily will be this year’s club #2/3 on the mound where he comes in with a low-mid 80’s FB with some dancing ability with the breaking ball. “24 Braxton Arthur has a chance to roam RF on a consistent basis and carries decent speed on the basepaths. ‘24 RHP and Cleveland State signee Brody Casteel is another guy that comes in mid 80’s and is in line to be the @2/3 this season where he shows command for a 3-pitch mix. ‘24 Hunter Jordan and ‘24 Ethan Wilds look to be major weapons out of the bullpen and should rack up a lot of innings this season. ‘25 Bronson Stone is another guy that should push for a starting rotation spot or command starts on the weekend and shows some ability. ‘25 OF Carson Stott will also push for innings in the outfield. This year’s club may lack some high end talent but shows plenty of depth on the defensive side and on the mound and the Bears are always a tough out. The region is loaded with quality teams and getting back to regionals will not be an easy feat but they somehow always find a way to make things happen and expect 2024 to be no different.
