On Monday, March 26, McLean played Oakton in the first game of their spring tournament. The game was delayed 48 hours due to weather, so pregame preparation for players was interrupted with no practice day on Sunday. Weather was also a cold low 40s, but sunny at game time. See our recap of the game.

McLean
Max Groppe LHP 2018 (Emory)
Groppe has a lankier athletic frame that he can still add too. Throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with longer arm action and normal effort. Shoulders are uphill and closed, lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball was 78-80, touching 81. He held his velocity for all five innings and kept the velocity in the stretch as well. Showed ability to attack in and out with it, pitch had late life, sink to his gloveside and heavy run to his armside. Change-up was 75-76 with good armspeed and heavy run. Threw a curveball was 66-70 with 2/8 break and good armspeed.
