As the Fall of 2023 is coming to a close it is time to revisit our player rankings for the 2024 class. After multiple events this Fall, and being able to see live game play, the Arizona staff was able to make subtle changes while adding some new additions to the list. 

As always the ranking process is a fluid and ongoing process, in which players are evaluated on multiple occasions, whether it be at an event or on the playing field at a local tournament. All players on this Top-100 list are well deserving and have a bright future ahead. The players at the top of the list have separated themselves from the rest, and proven they belong where they will be heading. Most of these prospects are very tough to compare, and through the entire Top-100, the players are merely interchangeable, including some of those that have been left out.

TOP 5 SPOTLIGHT

1. Cam Caminiti - Saguaro High School (LSU)

Cam Caminiti, a left-handed pitcher from Saguaro High School, has established himself as a force to be reckoned with on the mound. Committed to Louisiana State University (LSU), Caminiti boasts an impressive fastball that touches 97 MPH. His prowess was on full display as the starting pitcher in the inaugural PBR All American Game, where he kicked off the contest by striking out the side. Caminiti's decision to re-class and skip his junior season speaks volumes about his readiness to compete at the highest level. 

2. Smith Bailey - Mountain Ridge High School (University of Arizona)

A University of Arizona commit hailing from Mountain Ridge High School, Smith Bailey is a right-handed pitcher with a fastball ranging between 90-94 MPH. Bailey's slider has proven to be a differentiator, adding an element of unpredictability to his pitching arsenal. His standout performance in the PBR West Coast Pro Case this summer further solidifies his status as one of Arizona's top prospects. 

3. Mason Russell - Casteel High School (University of Arizona)

Mason Russell, a left-handed pitcher representing Casteel High School, has committed to the University of Arizona. Russell's fastball sits in the 89-91 MPH range, and he possesses true pitch ability, keeping hitters off balance with a well-rounded mix of fastball, slider, and changeup. His contributions were integral to leading the Casteel Colts to their first-ever 5A State Title in 2023. Russell also showcased his skills as a pitcher in this year's PBR West Coast Pro Case.

4. Chris Newstrom - Chaparral High School (Tennessee)

Chris Newstrom, a Tennessee commit from Chaparral High School, has recently transitioned to the catcher position. Known for his big-time arm strength and quick pop times ranging from mid-1.8s to 1.9s, Newstrom's defensive skills behind the plate are catching the eye of scouts. His participation in this year's PBR West Coast Pro Case highlights his commitment to refining his skills and adapting to new roles on the field. Newstrom is a force for the Chaparral Firebirds and following this spring season, will continue that trend for the Vols. We look forward to following Newstrom in his senior season. 

5. Jackson Forbes - Mountain Ridge High School (University of Arizona)

Jackson Forbes, a University of Arizona commit from Mountain Ridge High School, brings a dynamic skill set to the middle infield. Forbes exhibits power from the left side of the plate. His standout moment in the PBR West Coast Pro Case, where he launched a home run over the right-field wall, showcased his ability to impact the game offensively. Forbes is a promising prospect with the potential to make significant contributions at the collegiate level for the Wildcats.
