2024 GHSA Preview: Fellowship Christian Paladins

Ian Smith
Assistant Scouting Director

The 2024 Georgia high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in mid-May inside one of Coolray Field, AdventHealth Stadium, or JI Clements Stadium at Georgia Southern University. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Power 25 rankings.

Our 2024 preseason coverage continues today.

TEAM OUTLOOK

A year removed from winning 29 games and a final four appearance, Fellowship Christian appears destined for a rebuilding year with just one senior due for a big impact in 2024, but this team is not short on talent. Junior outfielder Tristan Costoulas is set to lead the offense after hitting .500 last year with sophomore CF/QB1 Jonathan Granby set for a major role after getting his feet wet as a freshman in 2023. Junior Future Games alum, freshman Jake Brannon will be a swiss-army knife for the Paladins this spring as top-of-the-order bat as well as potentially in the starting rotation alongside juniors Harry Gardner and Lawson Ivey. The left-side of the infield holds immense potential this spring and going forward for FCS with a pair of freshman in shortstop Reid Harke and third-baseman James Sharp. Lone mentioned senior is Walker Price, who will be invaluable for this young ballclub as well as filling multiple roles for the Paladins. Fellowship Christian has won at least 20 games in each of the last full 5 seasons, so it’s extremely tough to count this team out any year.
