The Georgia Scout Blog will be a weekly blog with reports and videos from the players and teams that we go out to cover each week. The blog will remain for the length of the week with notes being added the day following from each game. At the end of the week we will update the POWER 25 and CLASSIFICATION RANKINGS, then at the beginning of the following week we will announce 2 Player of the Week awards, along with our Diamond Notes, which is a culminaton of all players that were not selected for player of the week. Note: Player of the Week submissions are sent in by high school coaches.

Week of March 18th

Monday

Tyler Bayer, RHP, 2024, South Forsyth
On a cold, blustery night in Cumming, Bayer showed poise and ability to battle that was backed by the best pure stuff that I’ve seen from Kennesaw State commit. A bit flat and scattered early, Bayer quickly ramped the fastball up to touching 93 in the 2nd while holding 90-92 in the later innings. Will create good, late arm-side run with some sink as well that makes the pitch really tough to barrel up. Changeup flashed as a quality offering at 81-83 especially to lock up RHH with sharp diving action with some fade that comes out of the same fastball tunnel. Slider feel continues to grow in the low-80s with some ability to add and subtract sweep with present command for strikes. Bayer is a high-level athlete on the mound at 6-foot-4, 190-pound who moves extremely well with advanced body control of the long limbs and ability to repeat. One of the younger 2024 arms in-state, and could be only getting better as the spring goes.

Tuesday

Sebastian Haggard, RHP/INF, 2024, Ringgold
Penn Commit. Haggard had an impressive day on the diamond both on the mound and at the plate. On the mound Haggard threw a 7 inning CG while striking out 12 and only allowing 2 hits. Sebastian worked efficiently keeping his pitch count in the 70’s and did a good job of staying ahead in counts. Haggard worked a FB up to 90 and settled in at 87-89 while holding that velo throughout his outing. He showed a good arsenal of off speed pitches with the SL, CB, CH keeping hitters off of the FB. At the plate Haggard hit a homer to deep LCF and showed effortless pop from the right side.

Wednesday

Colin White, LHP, 2026, Harrison
White was outstanding from the first pitch, and ended up putting together one of the best starts I’ve seen from the Georgia Tech commit. Long levers and high-waist at 6-foot-3, 185-pounds, White has one of the best frames in the 2026 class without question. Fastball was explosive out of the hand with late hop at 88-90 T91 while showing impressive command to the outer half to both sides of the plate and filling up the zone. Slider is looking like a budding above-average or better pitch at 75-78. Sharp late sweep creates ugly swing and miss at will, and starting to harness feel to land it for strikes and in-zone misses. Fringe feel for the changeup at 80-82 with some fade, but can land when behind in the count to keep hitters off balance. Ultra-competitive on the mound with an attack mentality that makes the present stuff play up even more.

Thursday

Luke Windom, OF, 2025, Bowdon
Uncommitted. Windom is a solid player in the leadoff spot for Bowdon. Thursday Luke picked up 2 hits driving in a couple of runs in their win against Christian Heritage. Windom has a simple approach working the middle of the field and stays inside the ball well. Luke has good feel for the zone, not chasing bad pitches out of the zone. Windom is especially tough when he has 2 strikes battling and fouling pitches off.
