JEFFERSON CITY, TN - The Diamond organization continued their fall season with a PBR Scout Day at Carson Newman University on Sunday, October 29th. Over 30 players went through the pro-style workout and there were several players that impressed at the different stations of the showcase. Below are some standout performers from the event.

+ Luke Treece: Reigning Mr. Baseball in Tennessee for 1A Coalfield HS, Treece offers plenty of ability in the field where he is able to play multiple positions, as well as catch. Treece had a great day in all facets and stood out in a number of ways. At the plate, led the group with one of the highest max EV with a 94 mph, while averaging out to 82.5 mph EV. He had an even approach between line drive and flyball percentage, spraying balls to left center field and up the middle consistently. Easy swing that offers more to come with a frame that is listed right around 5 foot 11 and 190 lbs. Not necessarily a burner with his speed, but he plays fast and takes clean angles with quick reactions to cover ground in the middle infield. Behind the plate, offered pop times of 2.02-2.05 with clean throws that stayed heavily on line to second base. Accurate and plays the game with high IQ, Treece is a ‘25 prospect that should continue making waves this spring season. 

+ Neels Schoonbee: Athletic prospect that should continue to help Hardin Valley compete for state championships, Schoonbee registered the fastest sixty with a time of 6.87 seconds and displayed potential in multiple other ways. Max 91 mph EV while pacing the group with the highest average EV just north of 86 mph. Stayed heavily with a line drive approach and didn’t miss-hit hardly any. Effortless swing from his 5 foot 11 and 166 pound frame that projects to add more as he develops. The ‘25 class player showed clean feet and athletic actions fielding from the outfield to go alongside an arm that is still recovering from a labrum injury but clocked in the upper 70’s mph with harder throws down the line. 

+ Gavin DiBartolomeo: Physical ‘26 prospect with athletic upside and strong intangibles listed at five foot 9 and 170 pounds with a clean looking frame. DiBartolomeo had loud barrels, hard shot line drives and deep fly balls, while pacing the group in terms of max EV with a 95 mph and farthest hit ball with a 355 foot shot to close out his round. Developing outfielder that showed a clean arm action with on-target throws in the upper 70’s, he offers projection and potential as he heads into his sophomore season. 

+ Cooper Williamson: ‘25 prospect listed at 6 foot 1 and 165 pounds, Williamson showed plenty of ability in multiple areas of the game. Slim frame that should be able to add muscle easily worked a sub-7 sixty with a time of 6.94 seconds with easily faster times to come as he maintained long strides and easy moving lower half. The LHH showed bat speed and barrel control with a 92 mph EV. This is a very athletic prospect that has an arm to go with him as he led the group in multiple throwing metrics. Sat low 80’s from the outfield while topping out at 85 mph with direct on-line throws that carried zip and ride as they held plane to home from right field. Looked really good on the bump from the left-side as he has sound mechanics that go with a clean arm action that screams more velocity as he matures. FB sat 81-82 mph with 2000+ rpm’s that averaged an insane amount of IV break at 20+ inches, which is well above average at any level of this game. Showed feel for release point and extension where he showed command and usage ability in the zone. SL may have been his best overall weapon coming in at 70-72 mph with 2200+ rpm’s on average to go alongside 9 inches of average HZM for a true Sweeping Slider shape that should continue to get better and offers wipeout ability currently. Commanded the pitch extremely well showing ability to throw it back-door for and to gloveside consistently for strikes. CH offered a difference in speed and spin at 76-77 mph with 1700 rpm’s that carried fade and HZM at 11 inches on average. Had a really nice showing on the bump and is a left-handed arm that is worth following along as he develops and may offer the most upside there. 

+ Tobias Peterson: Prospect that attends Farragut HS and their long line of players that play after high school. The ‘25 prospect currently is on the smaller size in terms of frame at 5 foot 7 and 160 pounds but packs a punch with more strength to come as he grows. Currently a decent runner at 7.1 in the sixty, but moves really well and carries athletic ability. 90 mph max EV at the plate hitting from the left-side with a smooth-level up plane swing that had some loud barrels when he made contact to the pull side. 81 mph arm from the outfield that has more in there currently if he wanted to let it go. Offers his most upside as a southpaw on the bump where he showed polish with his pitches and ability to use them around the zone. FB was mostly mid to upper 70’s, while topping out right at 78 with quality spin in the 2000-2100 rpm’s zone. SL was a weapon that metrically stands out at 65-68 mph with 2400+ rpm’s that offered late bite and sweeping action at 19 inches on average with his highest being 24 inches of sweep right on the horizontal plane. That is an absolute weapon that should continue to gain velocity. CH offered a nice pace difference at 69-71 mph with killed spin of 1300 rpms to go alongside 10 inches of HZM on average. Showed true pitch-shape clusters with his every different offering that shows understanding of feel for his release point and command of his body with timing both lower and upper half together. Quality arm that should compete for innings on a loaded team looking to repeat as state champions.
