Staff

JOHNSON CITY, TN - The East Tennessee Fall ID was held on Sunday, November 12th at TVA Credit Union Stadium in Johnson City, TN. This event was an open event that consisted of players from the 2024-2029 classes from Volunteer state. Players went through an extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60-yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to get numbers and metrics on TrackMan. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.

Continuing our post-event coverage for this event, we take a look back at the scouting reports from the event. First, we look at all positional players who attended the East TN Fall ID.

Body: 6-0, 168-pounds. Long and lanky frame with room for added size and strength.
Delivery: Easy delivery that doesn't use a lot of present effort but offers easy carry. Lacks some feel currently with consistant release points and timing of his hip drive.
Arm Action: LH. Short Arm Action with late release.
FB: T76, 75-76 mph. FB plays down in the zone, can move it around the zone. Showed good command low in the zone T1745, 1700 average rpm.
CB: 64-66 mph. 11/5 shape with feel for throws with conviction. Late biting life. T2078, 1974 average rpm.
CH: 71-73 mph. Good feel for his CH, good fade action. Can be a plus pitch for him. T1685, 1523 average rpm.
ATH: 7.94 runner in the 60. 4.33 in the 10 yard split.

Colton Baron, Siegel (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-1, 175-pounds. Long limbed frame with present strength and mass in his lower half. Proportional build.
Delivery: Really calm delivery that has advanced arm speed with late action that works to get on top of hitters. Blocks his lead leg extremely well allowing his front side to shoot over with extension.
Arm Action: RH. Really quick arm action that stays tight to his body while also being long and creating seperation. Works in sych with his hip turn/ leg drive.
FB: T86, 85-86 mph. Fastball carries late life that stays pretty true on plane with late run. Will play well down in the zone, as well as in to righties. T2288, 2122 average rpm.
CB: 69-70 mph. CB has big break to it, more horizontal action to it. Will get weak contact and bad swings out of the zone with it. Shows good spin and will continue getting better. T2254, 2218 average rpm.
CH: 77-79 mph. Kills spin effectively off his fastball. Offers late biting fade but believe that there is more horizontal movment in there. Shows feel for command and ability to use it in game. Consistent arm speed. Bottom falls out, should be primary pitch for him. T1644, 1501 average rpm.
ATH: 7.76 runner in the 60. 4.29 in the 10 yard split.

Manning Brooks, Cherokee High School (TN), 2025
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 6-0, 155-pounds. Long legs with present mass that should continue to fill out into a well developed proportional build.
Delivery: Calm delivery that doesn't use his entire body at this point in his development. Can become arm dominate and lose his lower half.
Arm Action: RH. Arm moves fast, really twitchy. Comes form a 3/4 arm slot, uses a lot of his arm to throw.
FB: T77, 76-77 mph. Sneaky, late life. Will play atacking into righties. T1752, 1694 average rpm.
SL: 64-66 mph. Can generate several swing and misses when located down. Sweeping action, both sides of the dish. T1912, 1798 average rpm.
CH: 70-71 mph. Must work to kill Induced vertical break on this pitch to make it a more effective offering. Has about 15 inches of vertical movement and will need to increase horizontal. Can get outs with speed difference. T1391, 1383 average rpm.
ATH: 7.31 runner in the 60. 4.07 in the 10 yard split.

Parker Davis, Alcoa High School (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 6-1, 170-pounds. Developed frame with plenty of room for added size and strength. Slim waist with long legs.
Delivery: Stays over the rubber with an on-line drive down the mound. Later hand break that he synchs up well leg lifts. Finshes well over his front side with late release.
Arm Action: RH. Easy, athletic with a longer arm stroke that stays nicely connected together. Will continue to get better once he becomes more consistent and repeatable with his release point but arm works extremely well from a high 3/4 slot.
FB: Gets good extension on his FB, has high induced vertical break and high spin, will play up in the zone
CB: 69-72 mph. CB has hard break. Tight movement horizontal with depth. Throwing off his FB will help tunnel these pitches and get bad swing and misses. Wipeout potential. T2625, 2499 average rpm.
SL: 74-74 mph. Spins it well. Will be a good out pitch to LHH, RHH will beat it into the ground. Shows true shape differential from CB. Wil be able to keep hitters off balance with this pitch. T2315, 2315 average rpm.
CH: 78-80 mph. CH has some present drop with horizontal run. Offers a similar shape than his two-seam fastball. Must work to stay inside that pitch longer and kill spin with fastball arm speed and intent for an even better pitch that should be able to keep hittes off balance. Can use against lefties and righties. T1754, 1589 average rpm.
ATH: 7.84 runner in the 60. 4.30 in the 10 yard split.

Thomas Gilmore, Science Hill (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Body: 5-8, 155-pounds. Long legs with skinny waist with plenty of room to fill out with added strength.
Delivery: Up Tempo, attackes the zone with feel for his fastball and breaking stuff. Late break on his CB that works off the plate. Fastball has some present run that worked to glove side
Arm Action: LH. Compact arm action that works up to his ear. 3/4 arm slot
FB: T73, 70-73 mph. Gets good extension on his FB, has high induced vertical break and high spin, will play up in the zone T2189, 2086 average rpm.
CB: 60-63 mph. Solid shape at 12/6 here that offers late downward action. Think he does show this pitch somewhat earlier than needed and better hitters will notice it out of hand. Would like to see him have somewhat of a longer lever with his forearm and elbow to create not only a truer shape, but with firmer velocity and snap. T2432, 2269 average rpm.
CH: 67-67 mph. Ch offers a good mix up from his fastball, similar movement profile. Difference in speed could miss some barrels. T1693, 1529 average rpm.
ATH: 7.65 runner in the 60. 4.20 in the 10 yard split.

Braden Gore, Daniel Boone (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 5-8, 130-pounds. Slim and high waisted with plenty of room to add length, strength and mass.
Delivery: Great athletic delivery with feel for throwing four pitches with different shape groupings. Really Advanced actions and feel for pitching. Great command of his pitches and ability to use them. Will just need to continue getting stronger as the body and arm work on the mound.
Arm Action: LH. Longer arm stroke with a high 3/4 slot delivery. Easy arm speed that will continue to gain velocity.
FB: T72, 70-72 mph. Commanded the ball down in the zone, creates good downward plane on his pitch. T2155, 1973 average rpm.
CB: 63-63 mph. CB has good bite to it. Will freeze a lot of hitters with it. Can get swings out of the zone with it if he establishes it for a strike T1759, 1716 average rpm.
SL: 64-65 mph. SL has different movement profile compared to CB. SL has swing and miss potential. Should be thrown as an outpitch or behind his FB T1579, 1543 average rpm.
CH: 66-67 mph. Ch has fade to it, can expanded the zone with this pitch. Will play off his FB well and get a lot of weak contact T1159, 1139 average rpm.
ATH: 7.94 runner in the 60. 4.37 in the 10 yard split.

Maddux Rogers, Jefferson County (TN), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 6-0, 185-pounds. Filled out frame with present muscle definition in both lower and upper half.
Arm Action: RH
SL: 64-66 mph. SL had good horizontal movement to it, has late break. Will get swing and miss from RHH on it T2160, 2073 average rpm.
CH: 68-70 mph. Ch has a little bit of fade to it. Needs to follow up his fastball to get hitters out front. Kills spin nicely on pitch. T1455, 1321 average rpm.
ATH: 7.46 runner in the 60. 4.16 in the 10 yard split.

Nate Stoots, Science Hill (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-1, 185-pounds. Thick and physical frame that has present strength and developed thighs. Should continue to lean out as he adds muscle.
Delivery: Clean body mechanics with an understanding of how to use his body. Great feel for his off spead and ability to use it. Really works from the hips, and allows those to fire and clear before the upper half follows through. Works fastball well to the outer part of the plate to righties.
Arm Action: RH. High over the top arm action that carries whip behind head.
FB: T83, 82-83 mph. FB has good spin with decent induced vertical, he will get good results pitching vertically. Will be hard for hitters to get on plane T2025, 1925 average rpm.
SL: 71-71 mph. SL has more side to side movement, spins well. Needs to be in the zone more but could be a swing and miss pitch for him T2100, 2079 average rpm.
CH: 77-79 mph. Slows down his tempo and arm speed to create the pitch. Just is a pitch that is young in its development. Similar shape to his fastball, but without the addtional horizontal movement. Must work to stay inside that pitch long and kill spin with fastball arm speed and intent. T1741, 1686 average rpm.
ATH: 7.47 runner in the 60. 4.14 in the 10 yard split. 27.90 max vertical.
