With 2023 now in the past, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage that can be found anywhere in 2024. Starting in February, we began releasing team previews for squads across the state. Ahead, we will have Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings coming your way.

2024 Spring Team Preview: Western Brown Broncos

Team Name: Western Brown Broncos
Head Coach: Jon Crall
Division: I
2023 Record: 13-14
2023 Tourney Finish: Sectionals loss to Talawanda
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 3/4

Coach Outlook: "We have four of our top five pitchers returning from last season. We should be solid on the mound, led by Abe Crall (Wright State), and Ben Crall (Morehead State). Even though we lost six starters to graduation, we feel as though our offense will be improved with the incoming JV players from last season who have work tirelessly to improve."

  • Starting Pitching

Top Returning Players:

  • Abe Crall, RHP, 2024, 6'2", 195, R/R. Will be a 4 year starter both on the mound and at 3rd base. Wright State recruit. 0.636 ERA, 82 K, 19 BB, .450 Ave., 9 2B, 2 3B, 1 HR, 15 RBI, 10 SB
  • Ben Crall, RHP, 2024, 6'2", R/R. Three year starter both on the mound and OF/3B. Morehead State Recruit. 4.77 ERA, 43 K, .256 AVE, 5 2B
  • Jet Jamison, 2025, SS, R/R. Jet is our lone starter from 2023 who did not also pitch. He played every game at shortstop. .246 AVE, 5 2B, 11 RBI, 8 SB.

Class of 2024 Prospects To Keep Eye On:

  • Abe Crall (Video Below)
  • Ben Crall
  • Kaden Patten, RHP, 2024, 6'3". R/R, 5.44 ERA, 22 K, 17 BB

Class of 2025 Prospects To Keep Eye On:

  • Jet Jamison
  • Zavier Hamilton, RHP, 6'2",R/R. Zavier pitched 26.2 innings in 2023. He will be expected to increase his workload in 2024. 5.56 ERA, 31 K, 27 BB
  • Alex Weber. OF/RHP/C, 6'0", R/R. Alex played on our league champion JV team in 2023. He will be a starting outfielder while getting some time both behind the plate and on the mound.

Class of 2026 Prospects To Keep Eye On:

  • Samuel Gravel, DH/OF, 5'10, R/R. Coming from the league champion JV team from a year ago, Samuel has emerged as quite possible our best bat in the lineup.
