Ian Smith
Assistant Scouting Director

The 2024 Georgia high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in mid-May inside one of Coolray Field, AdventHealth Stadium, or JI Clements Stadium at Georgia Southern University. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Power 25 rankings.

TEAM OUTLOOK

A year removed from an elite eight run, Coach Jaime Wagner and Blessed Trinity return a ton of depth in all the right places with potential for an highly-impressive offense this spring. The Titans will be led by Georgia Tech commit 3B Kade Kisz, who is coming off an all-state sophomore campaign (.436 AVG, 33 RBI) and seems poised for an even bigger year. Middle-infield will be strong once again with senior SS Michael Zito and junior 2B Carson Zagryn returning and gives the Titans three potent bats in the dirt. The depth in the outfield for this club can be immense this spring led by returning starters junior Will Hamacher and senior Sean Greene, who is likely the biggest power threat in the lineup. A pair of committed talents in senior Anderson Deaderick (Piedmont) and Wesley Bass (Georgia Tech) will garner more prominent roles this spring, and keep a lookout for one of the top freshmen in the country, Caden Dawson to find reps as well. A pair of RHP return to headline the pitching staff in senior Grant Hodges and junior Cam Novak, and the Titans have quality depth throughout the rest of the rotation and bullpen. Another underclassman to watch will be sophomore Joseph Contreras, who brings his big-league bloodlines and quickly-improving profile to a variety of roles for the Titans this spring. Region 7-6A will be a gauntlet with teams like Pope, Alpharetta, Lassiter, but Blessed Trinity has all of the talent to be among the best in 2024.
