Ian Smith
Assistant Scouting Director

The 2024 Georgia high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in mid-May inside one of Coolray Field, AdventHealth Stadium, or JI Clements Stadium at Georgia Southern University. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Power 25 rankings.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The strength of this Warriors squad in 2024 will be the middle-infield that’s led by two experienced seniors in 2B Haruki Kawano and SS Jay Abernathy, a Tennessee commit and top overall player in our class of 2024 rankings. The only other committed senior Duncan Kennedy who’s a Toccoa Falls commit will be a major factor at first-base and as a potential SP1 for North Cobb as they look to replace a good amount of quality pitching from the 2023 roster. A pair of all-region football players in junior C Nick Grimstead and senior OF TJ Smith will bring their talents back from the gridiron to the diamond to likely have starting roles for this North Cobb ballclub this spring. Junior Keegan Mobley is a 2021 future game alum and now looks to hold down a prominent role in the outfield for the Warriors. Another multi-sport player and two-way talent in sophomore Kaleb Narcisse will have good value in the outfield and especially on the mound, where major strides could be had this spring. Pitching will be stretched thin for the Warriors this spring, but this team has talent and could end up having more depth than people expect.
