The 2024 Georgia high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in mid-May inside one of Coolray Field, AdventHealth Stadium, or JI Clements Stadium at Georgia Southern University. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Power 25 rankings.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The War Eagles played one of the toughest non-region schedules in 2023, and this year is no different. They will be prepared when region play hits, and compete for a region title. They have a strong starting rotation with Kennesaw State commit, Tyler Bayer, Young Harris commit, Connor McAllister, and Junior Cohen Rogers. Bayer is a '24 draft prospect with an electric fastball in the low 90's. McAllister had a break out summer, and is primed for a big year. Rogers is another one that had a big summer, he will contriutue on the mound and in the line up. Their line up will be versatile, as many players can play multiple positions. Sophomore, Alex Thompson will be one to get some eyes on early in the spring as he will be their short stop. Georgia Highlands commit, Emiliano Rodriguez will be a big piece and will split time at 3B and C. With 8 of the 9 bats in the line up returning the War Eagles will be a region favorite in 2024. There will be some highly anticipated match ups with Bayer stacking up against some of the other top arms in the state.
