Uncommitted Fall Follows - 2025s

Cooper Trinkle
Lead Scout

This fall has been a busy time for a select group of the junior class after a rule was implemented in the spring that prohibited college coaches from contacting prospective athletes until August 1st of their junior year. Now that that date has passed, this fall will be a make-or-break time period for prospects to be seen by coaches. With some prospects playing a fall sport, and others shutting down after a long season, I take a look at five prospects from the 2025 class that I am excited to see this fall. This list is limited only to players that are playing fall baseball and are guys that I believe have a chance to improve their stock exponentially with strong showings in the fall. All five of these prospects will be playing in the PBR Tournaments - Grand Park Fall Championships, held on September 15-17.

Mason Braun 1B / OF / New Prairie, IN / 2025

Fall Team - Chicago Cubs Scout Team

Braun is arguably the best hitter in Indiana's 2025 class, along with one of the most dangerous. Braun currently holds the best exit velocity (103.8 mph) that we have seen in Indiana's '25 class due to a well-sequenced swing, advanced physical strength, and eye-opening bat speed. The best way to sum up Braun's approach at the dish - controlled violence in a tight window. Braun's barrel explodes through the hitting zone with the path working in a slightly upward fashion, allowing for power and true ball flight from foul pole to foul pole. The 6-foot, 190 pounder offers defensive versatility - showing prowess at both 1B & in the outfield, with quick lateral movements and arm strength. Braun is sure-to-be a hot-name throughout the fall now that he is back on the board.

Trent Kulig RHP / Andrean, IN / 2025

Fall Team - Indiana Bulls 17u

Kulig is a physical specimen standing at 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds. The right-hander has a high ceiling with an upper-80s (T 90 mph) fastball that should tick up even more as he continues to sync up the delivery. The ball jumps out of the physical right-hander's hand and he offers a gradual, 72-75 mph curveball and a cut-change at 74-76 mph. While Kulig is still an unfinished product at this point, the potential he has is obvious when considering his advanced arm strength and physicality. I am excited to see Kulig back on the mound this fall, as he has a chance to boost his stock exponentially with a strong fall.

Huston Dunn SS / 3B / Fishers, IN / 2025

Fall Team - Indiana Bulls 17u

Dunn had a massive summer that helped create plenty of buzz with college recruiters. The profile is exciting - a 6-foot-2, 195 pound left-handed hitting infielder with power (99+ EVs). Dunn hit in just about every look I had on him throughout the summer due to a short & simple swing with above-average bat speed. On the dirt, Dunn is a sure-handed defender with just above-average arm strength and should be able to man multiple infield positions at the collegiate level. Huston already has garnered interest from multiple top programs, with division one offers in hand, and I expect him to continue to pick up offers throughout the fall.

Lucas Collins LHP / Bishop Dwenger, IN / 2025

Fall Team - Canes Midwest National 17u

An athletic, quick-armed southpaw - Collins had a couple of impressive showings during the summer that allowed himself to move up the 2025 rankings list. The 6-foot, 180 pound left-hander has a fastball that we've seen up to 87 mph with significant ASR, and he has rumored to tick up further into the upper-80s since our last look. Collins is an impressive mover in the delivery, creating quality hip-to-shoulder separation. The Bishop Dwenger product has a tight, mid-70s slider and will also flash a sinking changeup at 75-78 mph. I am excited to see if Collins can make the jump this fall to become a sure-fire division one prospect and cement himself further as one of the top left-handed arms in Indiana's 2025 class.

Ivan Mastalski RHP / Andrean, IN / 2025

Fall Team - USA Prime Midwest Fall Scout

A '25 arm worth a look this fall - Mastalski offers strike-throwing capabilities to go along with a projectable frame. The 6-foot-3, 205 pounder maintains controlled tempo throughout a balanced, low-effort delivery. The ball comes out of a 3/4 arm slot, allowing for quality arm-side run on a mid-80s fastball (T 87 mph) and Ivan shows quality feel for a 76-77 mph changeup that comes out of the same slot. Mastalski also shows a 71-75 mph slider with some horizontal break. Mastalski had a big sophomore season at Andrean - posting a 5-1 record with a 1.42 ERA and allowing just 12 walks in 44.1 IP.
