Uncommitted Spotlight: 2024 RHP/INF Roy Higinbotham

As we head into the 2024 season, we now continue our coverage of the talent we've seen up to this point in Colorado with 'Uncommitted Spotlights' of the top prospects still on the board in the senior class. While there's already prospects in the class committed to programs already, there remains a slew of high-end talent still available.

These spotlights help paint a picture of the prospect with the help of our TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance and Vizual Edge systems, that provides objective data that teams use to identify and break down players they believe will fit into their system.

Today, we continue our Top Uncommitted Spotlights with a look at 2024 RHP/INF Roy Higinbotham of Pueblo County HS. Higinbotham comes with two-way upside, but has a higher ceiling on the mound with pitch-ability. The senior showcases a live fastball in the mid 80s (~2300 RPMs) to go along with his curveball (~2300 RPMs) and changeup. In spring 2023, Higinbotham pitched to a 2.69 ERA across 57.1 innings with 80 strikeouts against Colorado 4A and 5A competition. We also saw Higinbotham generate a 95 mph top exit-velocity with the bat during the Pueblo Fall ID along with plenty of feel in the infield at multiple positions. Higinbotham led his team in hitting last spring thanks to a .472 batting average, a 1.241 OPS, and 10 stolen bases across 89 at-bats. The strong and athletic frame on Higinbotham continues to develop with his game as he is one of the top uncommitted 2024s left in Colorado.

Body: 6-0, 200-pounds. Strong and athletic build.
Delivery: From the glove side of the rubber, side step, high leg kick, longer stride, glides down the mound, drives over a firm front side.
Arm Action: RH. Medium arm swing out of a 3/4 arm slot.
FB: Stays on plane with light cut.
SL: 10/4 shape, some spin induced break.
