PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?

Amelse: The coach was very caring and the distance from home was where I wanted it to be. The academics at Iowa Lakes are also very good.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Amelse: Century

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?

Amelse: I first saw him on campus when I visited. Harvey Martin said he thought the school would be a good fit for me and I loved it.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?

Amelse: Yes, it's nice to know where I’m going next year for my education and where I’m going to play baseball. It feels really relieving.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

Amelse: The Coach was a lot like my Dad I thought that’s what separated the schools.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

Amelse: My Dad for sure, he has been there for me in life from the high points to the low points.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?

Amelse: It was just about finding the right academic fit for me and the baseball was a bonus. It was pretty easy for me.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?

Amelse: Potentially be a mid-week starter and come out of the bullpen on the weekends.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

Amelse: Probably last year when my legion team played at the legion state tournament that was very special.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?

Amelse: Probably Will Rodgers he has an amazing arm from behind the dish and a good bat.
