With the year coming to an end, our staff is taking some time to highlight and reflect on the most viewed profiles in Missouri throughout 2023. We’ll be counting down to the top spot, starting with No. 10 earlier in the week working our way down, releasing the most viewed name prior to the end of the year.

Our profiles serve as an all-in-one platform for players, hosting vendors such as verified stats, event video, contact information, and more. To create a free PBR profile, click HERE.

We've already released three stories, which you can find here:

+ No. 4 Keaton Neal
+ No. 5 Deacon Pomeroy
+ No. 6 Jack Jones
+ No. 7 Colton Sims
+ No. 8 Grady Westphal
+ No. 9 Whit Rhodes
+ No. 10 Jack Schwab

We’ll keep making our way to No. 1 on our list today with the third most viewed profile in the state this year, OF Cole Pladson (Clay Center, 2025; Oklahoma State commit).

Pladson’s year helped propel the talented left-handed hitter to a whole new level, starting during the high school season, where he absolutely raked from start to finish for his Clay Center club. He earned our Kansas Hitter of the Week award in early May and kept on performing throughout the summer too, most notably at Creekside during the Kansas City Program Invitational.

From 7/6/23: “...muscled-up 5-foot-11, 185-pound left-handed hitter, currently slotted at No. 14 overall in the Kansas’ 2025 class. Highly advanced offensively for his age. Hitterish with minimal in-zone swing-and-miss and consistently worked on the barrel with gap-to-gap juice. Looks every bit the part of an impact type bat both now and at the next level.”

(6/30/23)

For his efforts and talents on the field, Pladson earned an invitation to the PBR Future Games as a member of Team Select. His hitting didn’t stop there, as Pladson performed on a national scale against top-end competition and he showed out as one of the top prospects in the attendance. After the event, Pladson earned a mention within Shooter Hunts’ standouts piece, drawing high praise from our Vice President of Scouting.

From 8/11/23: “...looking mighty hitterish throughout a workout day that saw him post a 6.8 60-yard dash time with an exit velocity of 98 mph, Pladson had one of the strongest week’s of any player at the event. Emerging as one of the state of Kansas’ best hitters in any class this spring, the 5-foot-10, 188-pound left-handed hitter showcased a middle-of-the-order type look throughout the week. Going 4-for-9 with two home runs, his simple approach which featured no stride allowed the hands to rock into a power position before turning the barrel with surprising ferocity in a tight window. At times there was some swing-and-miss present, but the impact nature of the swing presented a more low-maintenance look and should see steady advancements in the future with more at-bats.”

2023 PBR Future Games

Shortly after the Future Games, Pladson came off the board following his commitment to Oklahoma State. He’s currently the state’s second ranked prospect for the 2025 class, slotting inside within the top-215 nationally as well, and he’s primed for an even bigger year in 2024.
