As the fall comes to a close, the PBR Missouri staff is set to update all of our class rankings for one final time in 2023. This fall was as in-depth as ever for our crew, as we saw more players than we’d seen before through events and PBR Tournaments. 

Now seniors, the state’s 2024 class is a formidable group that features a multitude of current collegiate commits with plenty more names set to come off the board in the coming months. With our extensive knowledge of this class growing, we’ve expanded the rankings even moreso, rising and adding several names that popped throughout the fall. 

Below you will learn more about the subtle movement we had at the top, as well as a few names that climbed up our board and those that made their debuts for the first time.

 + There isn’t much movement in the top 10 of our rankings, with the lone change being INF Drew Dickerson (Lee’s Summit West, 2024) climbing up one spot to second overall. At 6-foot-4, 200-pounds, the Oklahoma commit has as much upside as anyone in the class with a fast, powerful right-handed swing. 

From 11/9/23: “...moving to the SEC for the 2024 season, Oklahoma signed Dickerson as their lone recruit from Missouri to this recruiting class. Another top-100 prospect in the country, Dickerson owns an enormous offensive ceiling to pair with a professional 6-foot-4, 200-pound frame. His athleticism and strength for his age is alarmingly impressive - Dickerson ran a 6.68 60 with a 1.62 10-yard split and 20.2 mph of peak run speed at an event this winter, while also posting a 104.8 mph max exit velocity and 369 foot peak batted distance. Dickerson’s Blast Motion swing metrics are elite too, as he owns some of the highest hand and bat speed we saw across our winter circuit. There’s so much offensive ‘clay’ to work with in Dickerson’s profile and how much he hits consistently will only continue to enhance a ceiling that’s already amongst the highest in the region.”

FALL RISERS

Tyler Ellis 3B / Christian Brothers College, MO / 2024 From 9/18/23: "...Lindenwood commit. Boasts a highly physical 6-foot-2, 205-pound frame. Ellis’ bat strength showed throughout his BP round, where he stayed on top of the baseball consistently while utilizing the middle of the field, and he posted a 95.6 mph max exit velocity, which was one of the day’s best. His strength showed on the infield too, where his 85 mph high was also towards the top of our positional leaderboards."

Sean Phillips RHP / Elsberry , MO / 2024 From 9/18/23: "...Crowder JC commit. Another arm to know from this event. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound senior pitched at 83-85 mph with his fastball while spinning his breaking ball at 69-72 mph, averaging nearly 2500 RPM."

NEWCOMERS TO KNOW

Eli Woodall RHP / Lindbergh, MO / 2024 From 10/3/23: "...Lindenwood commit. was the lone arm to toe the rubber at this event, and the 6-foot-2, 155-pound senior holds a fairly intriguing ceiling on the bump. Woodall’s fastball played in the upper-80s at this event, touching 88 mph, with true four-seam ride up in the zone. He threw his breaking ball with fastball intent and conviction, flashing sharp downer spin at 71-72 mph. Woodall rounded out his arsenal with a 76-78 mph changeup that showed subtle arm-side run and was also thrown at arm speed."

Gage Maddox OF / Staley, MO / 2024 From 10/22/23: "...uncommitted. 6-foot-4, 175-pound left/left prospect that came away from the Kansas City Fall ID as a major winner. Supreme athleticism for his age - 6.45 runner in the 60, reached a peak run speed of 21.8 mph and jumped 37.9 inches in the veritcal jump test. Flat left-handed swing with hand and bat speed, worked the middle of the field in BP. Was also up to 90 mph from the outfield. A highly athletic uncommitted senior from the Kansas City area."

Jackson Rousey 1B / Logan Rogersville, MO / 2024 From 9/26/23: "...after an eye-popping offensive performance at the Missouri Fall Upperclass Games, Rousey put together an even better showing at Saturday’s event. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound corner infielder posted some of the loudest batted ball marks we’ve seen all year, especially with his average exit velocity (96.3 mph) and average batted distance (339 ft.). His sheer strength showed at peak too, as Rousey led this event with a 99.5 mph max exit velocity, while his furthest ball traveled 384 feet, which was also the day’s highest mark. Still uncommitted, Rousey has special bat strength that could potentially translate to a middle-of-the-order role at the next level."

Josiah Hall OF / Liberty North, MO / 2024 From 8/2/23: "...Adams State College commit. Helped lead Liberty North to the Class 6 state championship this spring. Attended the Pueblo Fall ID in Colorado this spring and came away as a standout. Hall had an exit velocity of 102.4 mph with an average exit velocity of 95. At 6-foot-2 and 205 lbs, Hall possesses a strong and mature frame and ran a 7.0 60."

Josh Wiedemann RHP / Troy Buchanan, MO / 2024 From 10/12/23: "...uncommitted. The 6-foot, 180-pound uncommitted senior pumped the day’s firmest fastball, pitching at 82-84 mph, while averaging 17.5 inches of vertical break, per TrackMan. Wiedemann also spun a 71-72 mph curveball and turned over a changeup at 75-77 mph, too."

Drew Patrick C / Webster Groves, MO / 2024 From 10/4/23: "...Maryville University commit. Strong 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame. Worked with tempo in Sunday. Aggressive mover down hill with a loose arm action from a ¾ slot. Fastball sat in the low-80s, touching 83 mph a handful of times with heavy sinking action to the armside. Mixed in a horizontal breaking ball in the mid-70s that earned some whiffs. Rounded out his three-pitch mix with a fading changeup that flashed depth, too."
