On Wednesday, November 8th, thousands of high school baseball players across the country signed their National Letters of Intent to successfully fulfill their dedication to playing baseball at the collegiate level, with hundreds of players in Missouri alone going through this process. 

Over the next few weeks, our staff will spend some time highlighting those names that signed their NLI to play baseball at the Division I level. We’ll do so by breaking these names up by conference, starting with the SEC last week, which you can find HERE, followed by the Big 12 story, which we published HERE.

Our conference by conference breakdown continues today with the Big 10, and you'll learn more today about the players from Missouri headed to those programs below.

INDIANA

Few in the class are as polished offensively as INF Grant Hollister (Blue Springs South, 2024), who’s been a staple in the Jaguars’ lineup since early on in his high school career and does nothing but perform each time we see him. Hollister’s simple all-fields approach shows early in live looks, and he’s more than comfortable spraying an off-speed pitch to right field or hammering an inner-half heater off the left-center wall for an extra-base hit. He’ll add value with the glove too with steady, sure-handed actions that should stick on the dirt at the next level. Hollister is set to join an Indiana Hoosiers club that won 43 games in 2023 and appeared in an NCAA Regional.

NEBRASKA

Nebraska has won more than 30 games in two of their last three seasons, including a semi-final appearance in the Big 10 tournament last spring. Their 2024 recruiting class features one prospect from Missouri in LHP Chase Olson (Raymore-Peculiar), who’s an upside southpaw that’s flashed upside stuff in previous looks. His fastball will bump into the upper-80s and he’ll complement it with a bendy low-70s breaking ball, as well as a mid-70s changeup.

PURDUE 

The Boilermakers dipped into Missouri to lock up RHP Henry Cordes (MICDS, 2024) in early September. A 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-hander, Cordes was a recent standout at our Southern Illinois Open fall tournament, impressing in a brief weekend start. His fastball played in the upper-80s, touching 90 mph a few times, with late life and run up in the zone. He grabbed plenty of whiffs on a firm upper-70s slider, while fading a changeup to the arm-side corner of the plate as well, showing feel and comfort with his entire arsenal throughout.
