State College (5-2) entered Thursday's Mid Penn league game with Red Land smarting from an 11-0 loss to Mifflin County on Tuesday and wasted little time jumping on Red Land starter Dalton Clouser for three early runs. Caleb Walls (walk), Brandon Raquet (single) and Chris Adams (single) reached base in succession to start the game and all three scored.

The 3-0 cushion was more than enough for junior RHP Bailey Ishler, an Air Force Academy recruit, who tossed a complete game 3-hitter with six strikeouts. Ishler allowed one run in the second inning and cruised through the final five frames facing just two batters over the minimum.

The Little Lions added six runs in the middle frames to win going away 9-1. Raquet, a William & Mary commit, led off the fifth inning with an inside the park home run. On the day the speedy center fielder went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. Junior shortstop Chris Adams, a University of Pennsylvania commit, was just as efficient at the plate. The three-hitter went 3-for-3 with a tripole and a walk, scoring three times while driving in a run.

Red Land (3-6) lead-off hitter Josh Snyder went 1-for-3 with a double to lead the Patriots offense. The sophomore barreled the baseball in all three at bats and was effective out of the bullpen holding State College scoreless over the final three innings while yielding just one hit.

State College returns to action Saturday when they host District 10 power McDowell. Red Land will travel to City Island Park, home of the Harrisburg Senators, for a night game with Cedar Cliff on Saturday.
