All State Games Preview : Team Central Arkansas

Saturday October 31st is the first PBR Arkansas All-State Games the event is going to be hosted at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. This event is going to feature over 80 of the top players in the state, the players will be representing each of the five regions of the state. Here is a look ahead at some of the players I expect to stand out for Team Central Arkansas:

Pitcher

Christian Goshen RHP 2016 North Little Rock HS
Goshen is a 5-foot-11, 175 right-hander, with a medium frame and a solid build. He has a quick arm from a ¾ arm slot. He could stand to clean up his arm action as he stabs in the back right now. He pitches off his fastball 83-86 mph up to an 88 mph. The curveball is thrown with sharp 11/5 break. The change up is thrown with fastball arm speed with and arm-side run. Goshen is a senior at North Little Rock HS and is committed to Missouri Southern University.

Top Defender

Cameron Tissue MIF 2017 Catholic HS
Tissue is a 5-foot-11, 160- pound infielder with an athletic frame and build. Defensively he has smooth footwork as he plays through the baseball with soft hands. He has a quick exchange and a loose accurate arm. He throws the ball 80 mph the infield. Offensively he starts from a tall stance with a smooth load. He works off a stiff front side driving his hips through the baseball. He has an uphill bat plane that generates 81 mph exit velocity. Overall Tissue is an above average infielder with a plus offensive game.

Best Athlete

Kolby Reck MIF 2017 Conway HS
Reck is a 5-foot-11 170-pound middle infielder with an athletic frame and build. He is a premium athlete that runs a 6.7 in the 60 with good first step quickness. Defensively he plays through the baseball with fluid footwork. He uses a smooth exchange and an accurate arm on the infield. Offensively he does a sound job of keeping the barrel in the hitting zone for an extended period of time. This allows him to hit the ball to all fields on a consistent bases. Overall Reck is a premium athlete with above average offensive aptitude.

Best Dual Player

Cade Tucker, CIF/RHP 2017 Conway HS
Tucker is a 6-foot-2 190-pound Right-Hander with a large frame and a physical build. He pitches from a H ¾ arm slot with a quick arm. He commands the strike zone with a fastball 82-85 mph. He shows advanced pitch ability locating a change up and curveball for strikes. As a position player he plays corner infield. He plays through the baseball with some stiffness. He has a fluid exchange with an accurate arm. Offensively he attacks the baseball with a slight uphill swing with raw strength. Overall Tucker is a well-rounded player that is yet to determine if he will pitch or hit at the next level.

Hitter

Paxton Wallace, CIF/RHP Greenbrier 2017
Wallace has a large, physical build at 6 feet, 200 pounds. At the plate, he starts from an athletic stance and transitions with a smooth load. Once loaded, he has a quick bat with a slightly uphill path. He does a good job to maintain balance through extension. He’s a sound defender at first with some stiffness in his actions. Wallace runs a 7.13 60 and can get on the mound, sitting 82-85 mph with his fastball.

Sleeper

Zac Freeman, MIF North Little Rock 2017
Freeman is a 6-foot 160-pound middle infielder with a medium frame and a thin build. He runs a 6.75 in the 60. He plays through the baseball with fluid foot work, quick exchange and an accurate arm defensively. Offensively he maintains a flat bat path through the hitting zone and has an advanced feel for the barrel. Overall Freeman is a good athlete with a well-rounded skill set, as he add strength he will be a very good college middle infielder.

Up and Comers

Cason Tollet, C Little Rock Christian 2019: Advance blocking and receiving skills. Offensively he attacks the baseball with fast bat speed and slight uphill swing.

Nick Farkouri, C Sylvan Hills HS 2018: Physically advanced with a strong arm. Offensively uses physical strength to show pull power.

Andrew Hreha, C/OF Conway HS 2018: Advanced offensive player with physical strength. He has the ability to hit the ball to all field with power.
