This fall, the PBR Missouri staff traveled across the 'Show Me' state to host multiple fall events at various different locations. We greatly expanded our player base as a result, and this year's fall showcase calendar provided our staff an ample opportunity to deepen our knowledge on all of the state's current high school classes (2024-2027).

Now, with the off-season rapidly approaching, our staff will spend the next few weeks highlighting a multitude of players that impressed at our events across this most recent fall circuit, starting with the uncommitted 2024s today and working our way down to each individual class.

Jacob Marshall OF / New Franklin, MO / 2024 From 9/3/23: "...Lean limbed 6-foot-1, 165-pound left/left athlete. Attended the MOKAN Fall ID at Johnson County CC in early September. Started his day by running a 6.97 60; easy, athletic strides. Twitchy left-handed swing, level barrel through the zone with more impact potential as he continues to fill out his frame."

Sean Phillips RHP / Elsberry , MO / 2024 From 9/18/23: "...is another uncommitted arm to know from this event. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound senior pitched at 83-85 mph with his fastball while spinning his breaking ball at 69-72 mph, averaging nearly 2500 RPM."

Sam Weller SS / Webb City, MO / 2024 From 9/18/23: "...swings a balanced, athletic left-handed barrel, flashing backspin feel into the right-center gap in BP, barreling his firmest ball up at 94 mph. He took reps on the infield and outfield, topping at 85 mph from the latter, which was one of the event’s highest marks."

Christian Denig C / Parkhill South, MO / 2024 From 9/18/23: "...showed the strongest arm behind the plate of this event, topping at 79 mph on his firmest bullet from the chute. The strong-bodied 5-foot-11, 185-pound backstop stayed uphill through the zone throughout his round of BP, elevating his farthest ball 329 feet, per TrackMan."

Kale Lawrence OF / Staley , MO / 2024 From 9/18/23: "...swung a quick, short, and uphill left-handed barrel in BP, working mostly to the pull-side throughout his round. Lawrence routinely elevated the baseball to the right-center gap, posting one of the highest average batted distances (251 ft.) of the event while sending his furthest ball 327 feet, per TrackMan."

Seungmin Song RHP / Parkway Central, MO / 2024 From 9/26/23: "...put together a clean inning on the hill at this event. The 6-foot, 200-pound Song worked around the zone with a straight four-seam fastball, pitching at 86-88 mph, with an 88.2 mph high on his firmest bullet. Off that, Song showed a low-70s slider with tight spin."

Riley Schulz RHP / Lindbergh , MO / 2024 From 9/26/23: "...toes the rubber at 6-foot-4, 210-pounds with physicality throughout his frame. Schulz worked around the zone with a three-pitch mix, starting with an 84-87 mph fastball that he comfortably spotted to the arm-side corner against right-handed hitters. His curveball played at 72-74 mph with some depth off an 11/5 plane and he generated upwards of 19 inches of horizontal movement on a firm 81-82 mph changeup as well."

Connor Henke RHP / Fort Zumwalt South, MO / 2024 From 9/26/23: "...has always shown our staff advanced pitchability, punching out 65 with a 0.59 ERA over 59 innings of work this past spring as the Bulldogs made a trip to the Class 5 state playoffs. At this event, the 6-foot-3, 185-pound uncommitted senior relied mostly on his fastball, pitching at 83-85 with it, while touching 86 mph. Henke flashed a downer high-60s breaking ball with big bend that played down in the zone, and he also threw a changeup at 73-75 mph."

Cameron Schlegl 1B / Westminster Christian Academy , MO / 2024 From 9/26/23: "...has noticeable bat strength that showed throughout his round of BP. The left-handed hitting senior cleared the right field wall on three of his swings, swatting his furthest ball 366 feet with batted balls of 338 feet, 357 feet, and 361 feet included throughout his round as well. Schlegl’s firmest ball jumped off his barrel at 97.4 mph and he averaged 87.7 mph per swing, which was one of the highest marks of the day. Aside from his ability to impact the baseball, Schlegl’s bat (78.5 mph) and hand (25.3 mph) speeds at peak, respectively, were also towards the top of this event’s Blast Motion leaderboard."

Jaiden Glency 3B / Jackson, MO / 2024 From 9/26/23: "...looks the part in a uniform and is built at an athletic 5-foot-1, 175-pounds with lean strength to pair. Glency showed well in multiple aspects of Saturday’s working, running a 6.94 60, hitting his hardest ball 94.9 mph, and touching 85 mph across the infield on his hardest throw. He looked the part defensively in-game too, making a handful of quality plays on the left side of the diamond."

Alex Thomason OF / Nixa , MO / 2024 From 9/26/23: "...Thomason, who’s uncommitted, has plenty of quick twitch and wiry strength on a 6-foot, 175-pound frame. He swings a fast right-handed barrel that works slightly uphill through the zone, squaring his hardest ball up at 94.8 mph at this event, while also running a 6.87 60."

Slater Hooke OF / St. John Vianney, MO / 2024 From 9/29/23: "...is an uncommitted 6-foot-1, 185-pound left-handed hitter with upside to multiple areas of his game that showed well at this event. Hooke kicked his day off by running a 6.93 60, his best time at an event yet, and he recorded the day’s furthest batted ball (366 ft.), while also posting the third firmest peak exit velocity (96 mph). It’s a long, level left-handed swing that naturally creates leverage to the pull-side, and he was able to repeat it consistently throughout BP. Hooke’s arm played loose from the outfield, touching 86 mph on his hardest throw home."

Nathan Higgins 1B / Seckman, MO / 2024 From 9/29/23: "... brings a physical 6-foot-2, 225-pound presence into the left-handed batter’s box. Higgins showed easy bat speed from a leveraged swing that intently worked to the pull-side, squaring his hardest ball up at 92.6 mph while averaging 89.8 mph per batted ball."

Nicholas Livingston C / Chaminade College Prep, MO / 2024 From 9/29/23: "...led the event in average hand speed (23.8 mph), finishing second in peak hand speed (24.9 mph), too. He showed a strong right-handed barrel with an uphill, pull-side approach, posting a peak exit velocity of 91.6 mph."

Gavin Caldwell RHP / Sacred Heart, MO / 2024 From 9/29/23: "...threw three pitches around the zone across his two-inning stint. An athletic, well-proportioned yet still projectable 6-foot-1, 180-pound athlete, Caldwell’s fastball played in the low-80s, touching 84 mph. He spun a tight, short wrinkle breaking ball at 73-76 mph (T2362 RPM) for strikes and showed a 78-80 mph changeup, too."

Aven Weaver RHP / Troy Buchanan , MO / 2024 From 10/12/23: "...was one of the biggest all-around winners from this event. A strong 6-foot, 180-pound athlete, Weaver ran the day’s fastest 60-yard dash (6.90) and he led all outfielders in max throwing velocity (T87 mph) as well. Offensively, Weaver’s strong right-handed swing worked uphill through the zone with intent to elevate gap-to-gap. He produced the day’s hardest batted ball (94.4 mph), as well as the furthest batted ball (346 ft.), and his average batted distance (276 ft.) paced all position players, too. Weaver is an uncommitted name to follow in Missouri’s senior class."

Josh Wiedemann RHP / Troy Buchanan, MO / 2024 From 10/12/23: "...the 6-foot, 180-pound uncommitted senior pumped the day’s firmest fastball, pitching at 82-84 mph, while averaging 17.5 inches of vertical break, per TrackMan. Wiedemann also spun a 71-72 mph curveball and turned over a changeup at 75-77 mph, too."

Jackson Rousey 1B / Logan Rogersville, MO / 2024 From 9/26/23: "...put together an even better showing at Saturday’s event. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound corner infielder posted some of the loudest batted ball marks we’ve seen all year, especially with his average exit velocity (96.3 mph) and average batted distance (339 ft.). His sheer strength showed at peak too, as Rousey led this event with a 99.5 mph max exit velocity, while his furthest ball traveled 384 feet, which was also the day’s highest mark. Still uncommitted, Rousey has special bat strength that could potentially translate to a middle-of-the-order role at the next level."
