By: Diego Solares
Area Scout, Illinois & Missouri

On Wednesday, November 8th, thousands of high school baseball players across the country signed their National Letters of Intent to successfully fulfill their dedication to playing baseball at the collegiate level, with hundreds of players in Missouri alone going through this process.

Since then, the PBR Missouri staff has spent some time highlighting those names that signed their NLI to play baseball at the Division I level. We broke down several conferences already that featured a multitude of names from the 'Show Me' state, and you'll find those linked below:

Below we've taken a look at some of the other names in Missouri that signed with Division I programs earlier this month. Continue reading to see where various different players from our state are headed across the country next fall.

XAVIER

Jack Nobe RHP / St Francis Borgia, MO / 2024

From 8/23/23: "... helped lead the Knights to a state runner-up finish this past spring, turning in multiple dominant performances down the stretch, while also throwing well in our looks this summer. He finished his junior year with a 1.05 ERA over 66 ⅔ innings of work, punching out 101 while walking only 14. Nobe’s a high level athlete on the mound with explosive arm speed and a lean-limbed 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame to pair. He was up to 93 mph this winter at the Rawlings Tigers Scout Day and pitched in the upper-80s, to low-90s, touching 93 mph in our game looks, too. His primary secondary is a tight, aggressive upper-70s slider, and he’ll also mix in a running changeup in the low-80s."

TULANE

John-Paul Sauer RHP / Jackson , MO / 2024

From 8/23/23: "...who’s phenomenal efforts on the mound helped the Indians reach Ozark this past spring. Sauer dominates nearly each time he toes the rubber, filling up the strike zone with three pitches, including an upper-80s fastball that’ll climb into the low-90s at times. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound right-hander can really spin a tight, bullet-like slider for strikes and whiffs, and he’ll comfortably turn over a mid-70s changeup with natural fade, too."

SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY

Tyler Holman RHP / Liberty , MO / 2024

From 8/16/23: "...made the trip up to Rantoul from the St. Louis area and the 6-foot-4, 180-pound long-levered right-hander brought one of the higher ceilings in attendance to the mound. Holman, who’s still fully developing his feel down the mound, pumped his fastball at an easy, lively 87-90 mph, peaking at 91 mph on his firmest bullet with plenty more to come. He spun a tighter low-70s breaking ball at 2500+ RPM at peak and flashed a 78-79 mph changeup, too. Shortly after the event, Holman committed to the University of St. Louis."

Lucas Redd RHP / Rockhurst, MO / 2024

From 5/5/23: "...Saint Louis commit and one of the biggest risers following our winter circuit, jumping to No. 29 overall in his class. Swings a heavy, physical right-handed barrel, juiced one the other way for a two-run triple in this look. Reached a peak exit velocity of 101.8 mph this winter with a peak batted distance of 370 feet. Also ran his fastball up to 92 mph, pitching in the upper-80s, with hard horizontal action on his breaking ball."

Adam Shipley RHP / Francis Howell, MO / 2024

From 3/30/23: "...6-foot, 180-pounds. Started on the mound for Francis Howell against Parkway West, also a state champion quarterback that led the Vikings under center this fall. Hurled four strong innings, quieting a quality Parkway West lineup. Fastball played 83-85, touching 86 mph, with carry up in the zone, and for strikes on the corners. Spun a curveball at 72-74 mph with depth and late downer spin, landing it for strikes and spotting it below the zone for whiffs, too. Figures to be a top arm for the Vikings this spring."

CENTRAL ARKANSAS

Nathan Negre SS / Berean Christian academy, MO / 2024

From 11/19/23: "...Negre has done nothing but trend up as a prospect, showing high end bat speed and athleticism from the right side. His power plays up from his stature, he's listed at 5-foot-10, 175-pounds, and Negre has proven to our staff he's a likely offensive asset at the next level over a few in-game looks throughout the past two summers."

Caide White RHP / Republic, MO / 2024

From 2/7/23: "...showed his regular loud stuff at Saturday’s event. White’s inherent strength, particularly in his lower half, on a 6-foot, 195-pound frame helped him generate high-80s velocity, peaking at 88.6 mph in this look. He created some ride on that fastball, spinning it at 2400+ RPM on average with nearly 18 inches of vertical break at max from a 5.8 ft average release height. White also spun his breaking ball at 2400+ RPM, a pitch that played at 75-77 mph with high arch and depth, and he landed his 78-79 mph changeup around the zone throughout his ‘pen."

Mark Ross II 3B / Glendale, MO / 2024

From 3/1/23: "...since his commitment to Central Arkansas, and the 5-foot-11, 195-pound highly physical junior certainly didn’t disappoint. Ross II swung arguably the day’s fastest bat, consistently getting off aggressive hacks and producing explosive contact as a result. His 95.2 mph average exit velocity led the entire event, and his 99.5 mph peak nearly did too. Ross II also ran a 6.88 60, the event’s third fastest time, and he led all infielders in throwing velocity at 91 mph. With inherent strength and loud tools to pair, Ross II is certainly set to rise up our rankings next update, and he’s poised for a big spring on a Glendale squad that should make some noise at the 5A level."

ARKANSAS STATE

Casen Murphy LHP / Park Hills Central, MO / 2024

From 3/4/23: "...Murphy’s a legitimate two-way prospect, pitching in the upper-80s with his fastball and spinning it at 2500+ RPM on average. He flashed raw spin on a 75-78 mph curveball, approaching the 2500 RPM mark, and he also turned over an 81-82 mph changeup that averaged 17+ inches of run on average. Murphy was one of this event’s top left-handed bats too, swinging a loose, easy, and fluid barrel through the zone, peaking at 101 mph with a 352 ft. max batted distance."

Devin Wassmann CF / Platte County , MO / 2024

From 3/9/23: "...played a huge role in delivering a championship to Platte County last spring as a sophomore, providing high level contributions in multiple ways. He swings a powerful left-handed bat right in the heart of this lineup and is a valuable asset defensively in center field. Wassmann is expected to be one of this team’s best players again in 2023, a task that the future Wichita State Shocker has already proven he’s more than capable of handling."

ARKANSAS LITTLE ROCK

Matthew Gardner SS / Kennett, MO / 2024

From 1/9/22:

Positional Profile: SS
Body: 6-2, 170-pounds. Athletic and projectable build.
Hit: RHH. Starts with a neutral stance with a wide base and slightly crouched posture. Strong rocking load into the lower half.  Short and simple stride maintaining the wider base.  Hands work linearly through the zone with a line drive approach.  Attacks the ball out in front of the plate with very quick hands through the zone and strong bat speed metrics.  Hard rotation of the body after contact onto the front heel.

Run: 4.35 runner home to first.

Ashton Williams RHP / Kennett, MO / 2024

From 1/31/23: "...earned an invitation to the PBR Future Games after a standout showing at this event last year. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound junior looked the part on Saturday, putting his usual loud tools on display to our staff once again. Williams' hardest hit ball left his barrel at 94.6 mph and his furthest traveled 336 ft., both of which finished towards the top of this event's hitting leaderboard. He paced all outfielders in throwing velocity (88 mph) and ran his fastball up to 87 mph on the mound as well, showing a quality slider and changeup in his pen.

NORTHERN ILLINOIS

Carter Cox LHP / Fort Zumwalt South, MO / 2024

From 3/4/23: "...has always been a pitchability arm, and his stuff ticked up this winter, improving his impact on the mound as a result. He was up to 88 on Sunday, sitting 85-87 mph, averaging 19 inches of vertical break, per TrackMan. Cox landed all of his breaking balls in the zone at 71-74 mph at 2300+ RPM, and his changeup flashed arm-side fade at 77-80 mph, too."

Connor Mendell C / Fort Zumwalt South, MO / 2024

From 4/6/23: "...well-proportioned 6-foot, 175-pounds with room to add strength. Hit in the middle of the Bulldogs’ order in this look and impressed, barreling a hard line drive to left field and screaming a home run over the right-center fence. Clear hand speed with easy juice off the barrel. Flashed arm strength behind the plate, particularly on an attempted back pick to first base. Also ran a 6.70 60 at the A’s Scout Day this winter."

MEMPHIS

Michael Politte SS / Lindbergh, MO / 2024

6-foot-1, 190-pound athlete that comes from a family that has plenty of baseball pedigree. Fast rotational athlete with present strength and room to add more. Slashed .327/.426/.510 for Lindbergh this past spring while also impressing our scouts at Creekside this summer.

SOUTH ALABAMA

Mason Beno SS / Parkway West, MO / 2024

5-foot-11, 165-pounds. Represented Team Missouri at the Future Games in 2022 and recently committed to South Alabama. Starred on the mound for Parkway West this past spring, pitching to a 1.40 ERA over 45 innings of work while punching out 53 and walking only 13. Loose quick arm with athleticism downhill, fastball plays in the mid-to-upper-80s, touching 89 mph this summer, with feel for both his changeup and breaking ball.

ST. THOMAS (MN)

Cooper Hudson RHP / William Chrisman, MO / 2024

From 3/1/23: "...provided us with his loudest showing to date at this event. At 6-foot-3, 200-pounds, Hudson’s firmest bullet reached the 90 mph mark, and he sat 86-89 mph throughout his ‘pen. He spun a 71-73 mph slider that flashed lateral action, and he also turned over a 74-75 mph changeup. Hudson’s physicality translated to the plate, barreling his hardest ball up at 93.7 mph with an average mark of 87.9 mph."

JACKSONVILLE STATE

Cole Kreisel SS / Warrensburg , MO / 2024

From 3/4/23: "...is a left-handed hitter to know from this event. Kreisel worked on top of the baseball during his round with loud contact to pair, averaging 92 mph per batted ball with a 95.4 mph peak. Kreisel also ran a 6.89 60 and was 85 mph across the infield."

MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE

Eric Williams SS / Fort Zumwalt East, MO / 2024

From 2/21/23: "...Williams, who’s a muscular 5-foot-9, 187-pound with plenty of inherent physicality, led the event in average exit velocity (94.7 mph) and nearly finished towards the top with his peak (97.4 mph) too. He generates easy bat speed and repeats consistently, whipping his barrel through the zone for hard contact on repeat. Williams slashed .404/.516/.626 for a Fort Zumwalt East team that made it to the 5A state playoffs in 2022."

Logan Darnell 3B / Rockwood Summit, MO / 2024

6-foot-1, 205-pounds. Pitchability arm that fills up the zone with three pitches. Helped propel Rockwood Summit deep into the Class 5 playoffs on the mound. Pitched to a 2.21 ERA over 50 2/3 innings of work, striking out 50 while walking only 10.
