On Saturday October 21st PBR of North Carolina was on hand at the Historic Durham Bulls Park for a Scout Day with the Canes Central Organization The Scout Day featured players from the 2024-2027 grad classes.

The day started with catchers going through a defensive workout, followed by pitchers throwing a controlled bullpen with Trackman collecting ball flight data. After the pitchers, the position players ran a laser timed 60 then took BP on the field with Trackman gathering ball flight information. The night concluded with outfielders and infielders going through a defensive evaluation.

Quick Hitters - Pitchers

Rylee Brown, RHP, Willow Spring HS
Average build at 5-foot-9, 165 pounds. Simple setup and delivery. Medium arm stroke. Over-the-top with average arm speed. Fastball at 78-80, spinning at 2242.  Flashed a breaking ball with big break.  Early downer action at 63-66, 2406rpm.

Andrew Caracio, LHP, North Raleigh Christian, 2027
Intriguing frame at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds. Worked from the stretch only.  Tall throughout. Slight uphill tilt in the shoulders. Medium arm action works to a high-¾ release. Solid arm speed. Fastball peaked at 85.4mph, 2232rpm. Good ride and run through the zone. Breaking ball worked with short, 2/8 tilt. Ranged 69-72, 2053rpm. Size and arm action suggest there is plenty of room to his ceiling.

Benjamin Edwards, LHP, Hough HS, 2026
5-foot-10, 145 pounds. Uphill leverage through the shoulders with some pelvic tilt out of balance. Over-the-top slot.  Average to above arm speed. Fastball up to 75.7mph. Intriguing breaking ball.  Early action but with depth through a 2/8 tilt.  Spin averaged 2476rpm.

Ryan Edwards, RHP, DH Conley HS, 2027
Average build at 5-foot-11, 150 pounds. Early pronator with some cross fire in the landing and direction. Long arm swing. Over-the-top slot. Fastball at 81-83, 2006rpm. Run over ride. Big run out of the hand at times. Change-up over curveball. Good feel for the change with similar movement metrics to the fastball

Jett Parsley, RHP, Middle Creeek HS, 2025
6-foot-2, 190 pounds. Short strider with a long arm action and over-the-top slot. Level throughout.  Solid direction. Fastball has easy ride through the zone at 82-85, 2172rpm.  Averaged 18in of induced vertical break.  1:00pm spin tilt at release. Sharp break on the curveball, early at times with 10/4 tilt. Breaking ball spin up to 2286rpm.

Cooper Redfern, RHP, Rolesville HS, 2027
Lean 6-foot-3, 160 pounds. Long arm action, reaching out of the glove.  Solid arm speed through an over-the-top slot. Fastball up to 78.4, 2114rpm. Flashed a split-finger with action as it gets in the hitting zone.  Solid arm speed on the splitter. Side to side action on a breaking ball that works with a hump out of the hand, sitting 62-65, 2191rpm.

Jason Sproull, RHP, EA Laney HS, 2026
Athletic 6-foot, 155 pounds. Easy, athletic release.  High intent arm speed with easy direction. Ton of room to his ceiling as he continues to add strength to the frame. Medium arm action to a high-¾ slot. Whippy through release. Fastball peaked at 85mph, 2428rpm with 19.2in of induced vertical break.  12:45 spin tilt at release. Slider and curveball with distinct movement patterns. Slider spin up to 2469rpm.
