Diamond Notes: 3/11-3/17

The 2019 high school season is well underway, despite the weather conditions. Yesterday, 2019 RHP Trevor McDonald (George County HS) was named the Player of the Week for March 11th  – March 17th. This week’s decision was a tough one, as there were several worthy nominees for the honor. We take a look at the other nominations sent in by coaches around the state in this week’s Diamond Notes.

Shelby Terrell (West Marion HS), pitched a shutout through eight innings allowing three hits, one walk while striking out seven.

Reed Trimble (Northwest Rankin HS) finished 6-for-11 with two doubles, a triples, five RBI and a home run.

Blayne Clark (Water Valley HS) threw six innings allowing two hits and one walk while striking out thirteen.

Ryan Roch (Biloxi) recorded six hits in eleven at-bats including five singles and one doubles while driving in two runs and scored four more.

Taylor Woodcock (West Harrison HS) finished with an average of .583 including a HR, a triple, two doubles and three singles also recroded eight RBI’s.

Nicklos English (Rosa Fort HS)  pitched a no-hitter and finished with a .500 batting average.

Tate Parker (West Harrison HS) three hits in seven at-bats including a walk-off HR and six RBI.

Dre McCray (Water Valley HS) punched out 14 in his outing this week.
