Carolina Senior Games East: Quick Hitters - Hitters

On Sunday October 15th PBR of South Carolina and North Carolina was on hand at Francis Marion University for our Carolina Senior Games East. The event featured players from the 2024 grad classes.
The day started with players running a laser timed 60 while using swift timing gates to measure their 10 yd/ 30 yd/ and 60 yd split, along with testing vertical jump on the jump mat. After the athletic testing, position players took BP on the field with Trackman collecting ball flight data, followed by catchers, outfielders and infielders going through a defensive evaluation.
After the workout, the players where split into to teams and played a controlled game. Pitchers threw to live hitters in a controlled environment, allowing PBR Scouts to control pitch count and stress of each inning. Hitters got live looks at pitchers, allowing the coaches and scouts in attendance to further their evaluations after BP, in the live setting.

QUICK HITTERS - HITTERS
5-10 165 lean frame with room to add strength. Hits from a wider stance with a medium leg lift and weight shift back. Short swing with a high finish with consistent hard contact. Had a max exit velo of 90.6 mph and a max distance of 316 feet. Defenisvely plays low to the ground with smooth clean actions. Showed a good arm across the diamond while up to 83 mph.
6-1 185 pound strong frame. Hits from an upright narrow stance with a medium stride and leg lift to a balance position. Short compact stroke while staying through the ball with a max exit velo of 86 mph and a max distance of 318 feet. Behind the plate showed good quickness with feet and exchanges with a top pop time of 1.9.
6-3 192 long projectable frame. Hits from a balanced slightly narrow stance with a short leg lift and stride to a balanced hitting position. Switch hitter that has similar setup from both sides. Has a flat stroke through the zone with a line drive approach to the pull side gap. Showed a max exit velo on the day of 97.1 mph and a max distance of 346 feet.
6-0 155 pound lean frame. Hits from a upright stance with a small lift and stride. Has a short flat stroke through the zone with a max exit velo of 87.2 mph and a max distance of 313 feet.
5-11 155 pound lean frame. Switch hitter that hits from a simple setup with a wider balanced base. Has a small lift and stride to get loaded up. Works hard to stay on plane while having a gap to gap approach and staying above and through the ball. Had a max exit velo of 85.5 mph while working above the ball. Behind the plate has a square stance and good footwork with a clean exchange with a best pop time of 2.11 with carry on throws.

6-2 205 pound long physical frame. Hits with wider crouched base that is slightly opened. Has a medium leg lift and stride to balance. Shows good bat speed through the zone with a higher finish. Had a line drive approach while having a max exit velo of 99.5 mph and a max distance of 378 feet. Behind the plate showed off quick footwork and exchanges with good accurate throws and direction to 2B with a top pop time of 2.0.
5-0 190 pounds. Left hand hitter. Hit balls off the barrel to both gaps during his BP rounds. Quick hands with a flat barrel path through the zone. Peak exit velocity at 90.5 mph with an max distance of 341 feet.
6-2 160 pound projetable frame. Hits from an upright narrow stance with a medium stride to balance. Flat bat path through the zone with a max exit velo of 86.1 mph and an avg exit velo of 80 mph. Swing worked above the ball while producing low line drives in BP.
5-10 190 pound strong physical frame. Hits from an upright narrow stance with a medium leg lift and stride forward to balance. Short compact swing with quickness with a flat path throuh the zone with lots of consistent hard contact. Had a max exit velo of 91.6 mph and a max distance of 332 feet. Showed a good arm across the infield while up to 82 mph.
6-0 157 pound lean frame. Hits from a relaxed stance with a wide base. Has a small stride forward to a good hitting position. Swing worked above and down through the ball with a line drive approach. Had a max exit velo of 92.2 mph and a max distance of 332 feet. Show good athleticism and speed running a 6.86 60 to go with a 1.62 10 yd split. Good arm strength and carry on throws to the plate.
6-1 200 pound strong frame. Hits from a wider simple setup and a no stride with a heel lift to get loaded. Swing is flat through the zone with a line drive approach while having a gap to gap swing. Had a max exit velo of 87.4 mph while also showing consistent contact and a max distance of 328 feet.
6-0 160-pound frame with room to add on. Lined balls through the middle and to the left center gap. Barrel works inside and through the ball. Peak exit velocity at 86.5 mph and a max distance of 311 feet.
5-11 205 pound strong frame. Hits from a wider balanced stance with good rhythm in hands. Good flat path through the zone with a short swing. Shows good strength in hands at contract providing consistent hard contact. Had a max exit velo of 94.5 mph. and a max distance of 354 feet. At 1B showed good footwork and hands while showing the ability to adjust easily to hops.
5-10 195 pound frame with strength. Hits from a even base with a high leg lift in and short stride to balance. Has a flat swing through the zone with a big finish out front while using a whole field approach. Had a max exit velo of 94.4 mph with a max distance of 320 feet.
6-3 215 pound physical frame. Hits from a wider base with a small stride forward. Flat path through the zone with lots of hard contact in BP with a line drive approach and using the whole field. Good bat speed while producing a max exit velo of 96.7 mph and a max distance of 332 feet.
5-foot-8, 140-pound build. Switch hitter. Short and simple stroke from both sides with feel for the barrel. Middle of the field approach with a line drive approach. Had a max exit velo of 89.3 mph and a max distance of 312 feet. Defensively shows smooth controlled actions while playing low to the ground and fielding the ball out front.
5-9 185 pound frame. Hits from a simple setup and an even base. Uses a toe touch to get loaded and forward move to balance. Flat path through the zone while getting barrel behind the ball early. Used a gap to gap approach while having a max exit velo of 86.6 mph. Behind the plate showed good direction in footwork and clean exchanges while making accurate throws to 2B.
An athletic 5-11, 175-pound build. A balanced, wider stance and has a short leg lift, a short stride to load. A clean swing through the zone, and a higher finish. Good line drive approach with consistent contact with a max exit velo of 91.3, and a maximum distance of 336 feet. Good athlete who shows good speed with a 6.97 60 on the swift laser gates and an accurate throwing arm from the OF.
5-6 176 pound frame. Hits from a slightly open stance and has a toe tap to get loaded to a small stride forward to balance. Flat swing through the zone whikle staying on plane with the ball and a max exit velo of 83.1 mph.
6-1 170 pound projectable frame. Left hander hits from a simple set up with a good forward move to a balanced hitting position. Has a short compact swing while working above the ball and having a line drive approach. Swing produced a max exit velo of 88.7 mph with consistent contact. Ran a 7.09 60 on the swift laser timing gates.
5-11 180 pound athletic frame. A balanced, croucherd stance. Has a short leg lift, a short stride to load, a clean bat path through the zone, and a higher finish. Good line drive approach with consistent contact, 93 mph maximum exit velocity. Good athlete who exhibits quickness and an accurate throwing arm from the OF.
6-0 172 pound athletic frame. Hits from a balance even set up with good rhytm in hands. Has a medium leg luft and stride to balance. Short swing while stayin to the ball and keeping barrel throught he zone. Had a max exit velo of 93.4 mph and a max distance of 338 feet. Showed good bat and hand speed while staying on plane with the pitch. Squared up 3 balls in game play.
5-10 145 pound lean frame. Even uprught stance with a weight shift back to load up and a medium stride forward. Swing worked above the ball while producing low line drives. Had a max exit velo of 89.3 mph with a max distance of 298 feet. Did a good job of keep his bat on plane and through the ball.
Strong and athletic at 6-foot-2, 195-pounds. Hit a ton of balls on the barrel driving balls to both gaps. Fluid, balanced swing, barrel stays through the zone with strength and quickness in his hands. Top exit velocity at 99.5 mph and a max distance of 361 feet. Ran a 6.95 60-time on the lasers and showed good arm up to 81 mph.
6-2 185-pounds strong and athletic frame. Strong, quick hands with some lift to the swing path. Hit several balls hard to his pull side during BP. Top exit velocity at 97.4 mph and a max distance of 364 feet. Arm up to 84 mph from the outfield. Ran the best 60-time of the event posting a 6.68 on the lasers.
