No. 19 Leonardtown got some revenge on the road Tuesday afternoon, taking down a talented No. 12 La Plata team in a rematch of the 2018 SMAC Conference Championship game in which the Warriors won. Nick Burch (Navy) broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the third inning with a double that plated David Tydings for a 1-0 lead. The Raiders would score two more in the fifth highlighted by an RBI double off the bat of uncommitted junior infielder Matthew Bobrowski and one in the top of the sixth for a 4-0 lead.

Chet Bowling cut the lead in half in the bottom of the sixth with a two-run blast but Leonardtown ran away with the game answering with three more runs in the top of the seventh. Owen Ziemba doubled in the seventh for the Raiders plating two runs in the 7-2 victory. Burch (1-for-2, RBI), Bobrowski (1-for-3, 2 RBI's, 1 R), and Ziemba (2-for-4, 2 RBI's, R) paced the way offensively for Leonardtown. Bowling led La Plata offensively going 2-for-3 with the homerun, 2 RBI's, and 1 run scored.

Ethan Ledig earned the win for the Raiders going four scoreless innings. The uncommitted 2020 RHP scattered three hits and struck out four. Warriors starting pitcher Ryan Calvert wasn't as lucky taking the hard luck loss giving up just one run in the three innings of work, striking out eight.

What's Next? No. 12 La Plata falls to (1-1) on the young season and will host Calvert on Wednesday at home while No. 19 Leonardtown moves to (2-0) and travels to face North Point on Wednesday.
