The calendar has flipped to 2024 and with the summer season on the horizon, Prep Baseball - Alberta will be making its rounds to facilities and practices looking for those players who have made the jump and improved over the offseason. Our staff will be putting together weekly Scouting Blogs to highlight those players who are seeking to make an impact when their season kicks off.

Scout Blog - January 22nd to 26th

Miguel Tetreault 3B / RHP / AHP Academy , AB / 2025

It’s no secret that Tetreault is one of the best defensive players in Alberta’s 2025 class with his quick feet and soft hands. To go along with that, his bat continues to get better. Displaying his athletic ability in the box, the AHP product showed off his barrel control and bat speed to consistently drive balls up the middle and to his pull-side gap with authority. If his bat continues to improve the way it has, it won’t be long until he is making a major impact on both sides of the ball.

Luke Prostebby OF / LHP / Bellerose composite high school, AB / 2024

The uncommitted 2024 has really improved since we last saw him at the Alberta New Year Open in February of 2023. He’s added strength and become quicker on both sides of the ball. In the box, he utilizes a strong lower half and improved hand/bat speed to drive balls hard to the big part of the field. On the defensive side, he tracks balls well in the outfield and has a strong arm, recently pulling down 88 mph. The Cardinals Development Program product continues to trend in the right direction.

Dayne Liske SS / 2B / Hope Christian School, AB / 2026

Another Cardinals Development program outfielder who has improved is 2026 Dayne Liske. There’s current strength in his 5-foot-10, 190-pound frame that is evident when he steps in the box. He utilizes a strong lower half and athleticism to help generate torque. His swing path allows him to elevate working predominantly back up the middle and to his pull-side gap. One of the more physical left handed hitters in Alberta’s 2026 class.

Braedyn Vogstad OF / RHP / N/A, AB / 2024

Vogstad is coming off a solid year in 2023, having represented Alberta at the Canada Cup in August. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound outfielder brings lots of athleticism to both sides of the ball. In the box he has plenty of twitch with bat and hand speed, and does a good job of maintaining controlled aggression. He tends to work on line to his pull-side. If the Evolution Baseball product continues to trend upwards, he shouldn’t be uncommitted for long.
