The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as the calendar has turned over and the start of the '24 CIF High School baseball season is quickly approaching we are highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '24 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '24 Class Rankings and remain as the top players left on the board going into the start of their senior season.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our PBR California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a NorCal '24 1B/RHP Drew Perry from Leroy Greene Academy. Perry is a physically imposing presence on a baseball field checking in at 6'5 and 225 lbs. with strength in his frame and solid athleticism. His profile is carried by the impact ability and power profile to his offensive skill set. With an aggressive RH swing which features impressive bat speed up to 78.7 MPH which combined with the strength in his frame generates consistent hard contact up to 99.5 MPH exit velocites while averaging 93.6 MPH. There is a good feel for the barrel and even when he mishits a baseball it comes off the bat with force. His operation at the plate is simple with a small load into his back side and quiet hands he shows a consistent feel for getting to the launch position on time to allow his quick hips and strong hands to work in the swing path. The approach looks tailored to lift and pull the baseball with authority on a consistent basis which will carry a power over pure hitting profile which should help him project in the middle portion of a lineup. A decent athlete who runs the 60 in the 7.38 seconds with good body control. He moves well with a good glove at 1B while presenting a big target and good feet around the base to be at least a solid average 1B at the next level. Perry is also a talented RHP who has been up to the upper 80's with his FB and spins a solid CB (he did not throw at event for PBR). Any 4-year college program or JUCO program looking for a physical power potential presence in their lineup with 2-way potential should add Perry's name to their board for the '24 class.
