The 2019 high school season is well underway, despite the weather conditions. Yesterday, 2019 INF McCrae Houston (Northwest Rankin HS) was named the Player of the Week for March 18th  – March 24th. This week’s decision was a tough one, as there were several worthy nominees for the honor. We take a look at the other nominations sent in by coaches around the state in this week’s Diamond Notes.

Jacob Hill (Lewisburg)  the freshman shortstop was 10 for 16 with two doubles, four RBIs and four runs scored. Hill, is now batting .500 on the season with 13 runs scored out of the lead off spot. 

Sheffield Anthony (North Pontotoc) was 7 for 10 with a three singles, three doubles, and a home run for the Vikings!

Rye McGlothin (New Hope) hit .636 with two single, two doubles a triple, five RBI and two home runs. McGlothin also pitched four innings and recorded two strike out on the week.

Jadeis Carter (Rosa Fort) threw a two hitter against Yazoo City.

Brayden Sanders (Lewisburg) threw a complete game, scattering six hits while striking out seven in the Patriots' 2-1 win over Olive Branch.

 

Cade Davis (Ripley) threw six innings, striking out nine in a 12-0 division win over rival New Albany.


Nicklos English (Rosa Fort) finished with a .575 batting average.
