The 2024 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Austin at the State Tournament, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and eventually releasing our preseason Top 30 teams in the state.

Team Outlook:

The Lubbock Westerners and Coach Victor Gomez are looking to rebound in 2024 backed by their pitching and defense. Lubbock returns two Seniors in the infield who will be relied upon to lead the way for the Westerners in 2024 in Diego Molinar (Uncommitted) & Caleb Colon (Uncommitted). A trio of juniors look to make an impact as well in C Aiden Herrera (Uncommitted), OF/RHP Jasiah Ordonez (Uncommitted), and OF/UTIL Isaiah Trevino (Uncommitted), as well as returning Sophomore UTIL Ivan Rodriguez. On the mound, the Westerners return Junior LHP Joseph Rosendo to be their ace for the 2024 season, with the previously mentioned RHP Jasiah Ordonez competing on the mound for Lubbock as well. A group of Freshman to keep an eye on as potential impact players in 2024 will be C/UTIL Brison Loera, INF Jesse Lopez, and INF Ryan Prieto. Lubbock will have some young pieces to build around for this season and beyond and should play quality defense to pair with their pitching staff in 2024.
