WHAT TO WATCH FOR:

Expectations for Team - Looking for young talent to step up and compete in the tough Mid-State 3A conference. There may be growing pains, but there is time for this group to adust and adapt and be a threat at the end of the year.

From the coach, Expected Team Strength
Our team's strength this year will be our youth and speed. We feel we have a talented group of freshmen and speed throughout our program from top to bottom.  We only return four starters from last season. Senior Joe Wilson was an all-conference player last season. He will have to eat up a lot of innings on the mound for us to be successful. Junior’s Luis Sanchez, Malachi & Micah Wilson will be key players also. I’m really excited about our youth. Two sophomores’ as well as four to five freshmen who will be counted on to make an impact for us this season. Keep an eye out for Josh Jones, Damir Woolridge, Reed Shelton, & Nathan Santana, these freshmen are looking to make an impact on our varsity team.

THOUGHTS ON THE CONFERENCE:
Eastern Guilford has won the conference the last couple of years. Rockingham County is always a tough team to play with the talent they have. So, I want to see how we do against the top in our conference. If we want to contend for conference championships, we’ve got to not only compete with these teams but eventually beat them on a consistent basis.
