PBR: What schools have you been hearing from?
FITZGERALD: A few Junior Colleges here in Iowa and Kansas, a few D2 schools in Minnesota and Illinois. My older brother is playing for a D1 school in Texas and they have also expressed a little interest.

PBR: Have you taken any visits? Do you have any scheduled in the near future?
FITZGERALD: I have not taken any visits yet.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school?
FITZGERALD: I’m not looking at anything in particular in a school, I mean I’m looking to get a high quality education along with a school that I can continue playing baseball for the next four years.

PBR: What were some of the highlights of your junior year?
FITZGERALD: It was a tough year for me personally, I battled a hip injury most of the season and wasn’t ever really at 100% all year, I missed 2-3 weeks of playing time and that was frustrating.  Helping Newman win it’s 38th consecutive conference championship, I would have to say making it to the state tournament for my third year in a row and hitting a Home Run at Principal Park was a pretty cool highlight.  Also, playing for and seeing Coach Adams get his 600th win was pretty special.

PBR: What are your goals for this year?
FITZGERALD: Well, being a senior next season, one of my goals is to be a leader to our younger players and help show them what is expected, what it takes and what it means to be part of the Newman Baseball Program.  Help lead our team to another conference championship and make it back to Principal Park

PBR: Do you play any other sports?
FITZGERALD: Basketball

PBR: GPA/ACT/SAT?
FITZGERALD: I have a 3.25 GPA and will be taking the ACT in the Fall.
