The 2024 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Alabama.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Jacksonville/Oxford/Montgomery area at the AISA or AHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Alabama. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each AHSAA classification.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each AHSAA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Beulah Bobcats come into the 2023 season with high expections of another strong season after reacing the Class 3A playoffs a season ago. There's plenty of excitement around the program with almost all of last year's production returning and those experienced players leading the way. After being eliminated in the 1st round a season ago, Beulah should have all the pieces to build off of their strong season last year in 2024.

The Bobcats return almost all of their starting offensive lineup, as eight of nine positional starters are back for 2024 and with another year of experience under their belt. Beulah finished as the runner-up in their area last spring, and will once again compete in that same area with Dadeville, Childersburg, and Randolph County. This year's team has a chance to be a really solid defensive club and will feature pitchers that have seen time at the varsity level with seven arms returning from last spring. At the plate and on the mound, it seems to all start with SS Wes Grant (2025), who will be attending the South AL Preseason All-State this Sunday in Saraland, AL. Grant is an excellent athlete and has a tremendous work ethic to go along with it. He has great range up the middle at the shortstop position and should also be one of their key arms, as well. Right beside him on the infield at second base, INF Sye Siggers (2026) is a very reliable defender who excels at putting the ball in play offensively. He will also pitch for the Bobcats and has increased his velocity heading into this spring. RHP/OF Drew Duval (2025) is another junior that is a solid athlete and can cover tons of ground in the outfield. RHP Brady Blackston (2026) and RHP/OF Hunter Duval (2026) are a pair of sophomores that are expected to see a heavy workload on the mound and could have big seasons. Both with also play an important role on the offensive sides, as well. 

The Bobcats have plenty of optimism surrounding their program heading into this spring with many of these key pieces returning. They once again look to be a serious threat in their area and are eager to make it back to the playoffs where they hope to advance further this spring. Keep an eye on Beulah in Class 3A in 2024.
