AZ Fall Scout Blog: Central Arizona College Scout Day

Jordon Banfield
Arizona Scouting Director

The Arizona Fall Scout Blog will include notes and reports on select prospects we see throughout our fall travel ball and Juco coverage. This article touches on a number of positional standouts from the Central Arizona College Scout Day. A number of other players also showed well, including sophomore Ian Raidy, a 6.7 runner who led the country in stolen bases last year and has a chance to stick at short, a stocky freshman Kevin Gutierrez, a freshman catcher who really stood out during BP, sophomore OF Clayton Keyes, a physical 6.70 runner, and many more. If there is a game/player that needs to be covered do not hesitate to reach out and we will do our best to be there. As always, contact [email protected] or direct message @PBRArizona on Twitter with any questions about Prep Baseball Report and/or commitment information.

CAC SCOUT DAY

Daniel Cervantes, SO, OF, Central Arizona College
Stocky, strong OF with 6-foot, 205-pound frame. Took absolutely the top BP of the day, launching homers to all fields with wood. Showed off the type of swing that should allow him to hit for average and get to his above average to plus raw power. Does an outstanding job of staying in his legs and creating a short, flat bath to the baseball. Also turned in a 6.94 60-yard dash, appearing athletic enough to handle an outfield corner with an accurate arm that I would comfortably put a 50 on.
