Outlook:

Stillwater is coming off an impressive year that saw them reach the state tournament after winning one of the most entertaining regional tournaments in the state’s history before finally seeing their run come to an end in the quarterfinals. After losing a few key players such as the powerful Gage Gundy and 1-2 punch on the mound with Anthony Smith and Barrett Morgan, the Pioneers have reloaded and look to make another run this season under first year head coach Marty Lees. This year’s team looks to beat you the same way they have the last few seasons, with power and athleticism. The Pioneers have game wreckers all over the field and if their pitching staff can hold up over the long season, they have an opportunity to be serious contenders in 2024.

Impact Players:

Ethan Holliday, INF, 2025, Oklahoma State Commit

If you have been around the Oklahoma HS baseball scene the last few years you know the last name. Ethan Holliday has been the mainstay of the Pioneer lineup the last few years and looks to continue the production this season. Holliday, the number one player nationally in the 2025 class has a smooth left handed swing, hitting for both average and power. Holliday hit .425 with a .606 OBP and added 15 HR & 42 RBI in the 2023 season. Holliday uses a short leg kick with elite hand and bat speed and shows excellent ability to stay balanced and on-plane on every swing. He shows innate ability to leverage the barrel with easy carry to all-fields that screams massive power potential. Look for Holliday to continue to add strength and continue to carve his own path as one of the top prospects in all of high school baseball.

Owen Coil, INF, 2024, Oral Roberts Commit

Coil has potentially produced more in clutch moments the last few seasons than anyone in the state. The ORU commit has a unique blend of speed and power from the left side of the plate and plays with one of the highest motors in the state paired with a high baseball IQ. He’s moved around between 2B and 3B the last few seasons, but look for him to find a home on the hot corner for this upcoming year. If the Pioneers want to make a deep run this upcoming season, expect Coil to continue to be a major producer in 2024.

Tyner Wilson, OF, 2024, Uncommitted

Wilson broke into the Stillwater lineup last year and was one of their major contributors in 2023. He fits the mold of what the Pioneers have been the last few years with an impressive mix of power and speed. Wilson has a plus arm in the outfield and has shown the ability to hit with gap power. He is also one of our top uncommitted players in the 2024 class, so keep an eye out for a potential breakout year from Wilson.

Blake Aziere, P, 2024, Uncommitted

Aziere has a real chance to be a gamechanger on the mound for the Pioneers this year. The senior showed flashes of power stuff in 2023 and looks to put it all together this season. Aziere got up to 89 mph late in the year and sat 85-87 most of the spring. He also shows a curveball with depth for swing and miss stuff. Aziere will get the opportunity to pitch major innings for Stillwater, with a chance to cement himself as a dominant arm this upcoming year.

Players To Watch:

Landon Littau, OF, 2024

Talon Kendrick, OF, 2024, OSU Football Commit

Brady Holliday, INF, 2027

Isaiah Smith, 2025, P/INF

Bryson Mitchell, 2025, OF
